Season four of The Flash won't feature a mystery speedster but it sounds like we can expect another character to leave us with a lot of questions this year. That will be Ralph Dibny, a.k.a. The Elongated Man, and producer Andrew Kreisberg has revealed that the source of his abilities will be a secret.

"That’s one of the big mysteries of the season," he teased, indicating that the stretchy superhero's powers won't be the result of the Particle Accelerator explosion which gifted the Flash with his speed. Talking of the Fastest Man Alive, it sounds like there will be some conflict between Barry Allen and The Elongated Man this season. "There’s going to be a lot of conflict between them in terms of how to be a good guy. Ralph is hitting on everybody all the time. He’s brash and loud and doesn’t listen."

The Flash's take on the character has been described as a fast-talking private investigator with skills that rival those of Batman. Upon discovering he has the power to stretch his body to any shape or form, Dibny uses his new abilities to help Team Flash solve one of Central City’s greatest mysteries.

So, it sounds like we can expect lots of big mysteries this season then! Are you guys excited to see what The Elongated Man brings to The Flash? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

I just hope the F/X look better than what's come before. The last few movies and tv shows that attempted the "stretchy" effect looked pretty hokey.

So glad they arent adding yet another "new" speedster to the show this year. Would love to see them bring in some lesser known characters. Dibny is a good start.

I would have preferred plastic man but maybe he's like blue beetle and not being on tv means he's got big screen plans.

In the comics he got his powers from a science-ish fruit IIRC. There should be a twist or a new "modern" iteration regarding it.

I love Elongated Man! I hope they get his obnoxious personality right.

Watch him end up being their version of god speed, and the whole elongated man thing is to throw us off

It's weird that he is not getting his power from the particle accelerator explosion, since he was one of the names of people that disapperaed after the explosion mentioned by Wells. I guess it will come from Gingo juice then (or whatever it was in the comics)?
