Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Kyle Secor (Veronica Mars, The Purge: Election Year) has joined the cast of The Flash season five in a recurring role as Dr. Thomas Snow, the long-lost father of Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker).

Details on his reemergence remain under lock-and-key for now, but he's being described as "an extremely intelligent geneticist who has been MIA for decades. Upon returning to Central City, he will try his best to make up for lost time with Caitlin." However, in typical CW fashion, they add, "But what Caitlin doesn’t know is that Thomas is hiding a big secret." Whether or not his big secret ties into Caitlin's search for her alter-ego, Killer Frost, remains to be seen, but it's hard to imagine that he won't, at least, have some answers on that front.

In addition to Caitlin's father, Susan Walters (The Vampire Diaries) is also reprising her role as Caitlin's mother, Dr. Carla Tannhauser, and will appear sometime early in the season as Caitlin reaches out to get some potential insight on her current situation. Executive producer Todd Helbing cryptically teases, “[Carla] is the one she goes to first for answers. You’re going to learn about what role her mother played in all of this, and there is that mysterious premonition that Cecile had at the end of last year about Thomas. So you’re going to learn about exactly who he is and how he plays into the season and Caitlin and Killer Frost, and really just that whole mystery about where she comes from and how she was created is explained.

Matching wits with The Thinker, who by season’s end had harnessed the powers of all twelve bus metas he created, stretched Team Flash to their limits, but with the help of some new allies, Barry Allen (aka The Flash) and company were able to put a stop to the Enlightenment and save Central City once again. However, with the arrival of Barry and Iris’ speedster daughter, Nora, who arrived from the future admitting to having made a “big mistake,” things are anything but status quo. Will parenthood be the challenge that finally slows The Flash down?

The Flash features:
Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash
Candice Patton as Iris West-Allen
Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost
Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon/Vibe
Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells
Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West

Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West/Kid Flash

I think it's time to close the door for some of the CW show ,precisely Supergirl and Flash .Both have good run but time to wrap it .Because we are in impasse with Superman in the Big screen , Supergirl can became the one who reintroduce him quietly to the public so they can identify with him again and ask more from him . And the Flash need big budget I mean the 5 minutes fight each episode it's not enough anymore .

Shoot I didn't notice that Rohan made an article about this one, got too caught up with the Superman and Lois roles in the Batwoman crossover. Nice article.

The amount of hype they are giving to Caitlin's Killer Frost and her origin must end up tying with Cicada's agenda to get rid of the metas. There's gotta be some link that will lead to the same road of the Season. Killer Frost can suck up the heat from things too as we saw in S3 when Caitlin absorbed with her hands the radiation heat (?) from one of her mom's experiments, so I wonder if it was possible to harness it better and with an anti-metahuman agenda like Cicada's, it might help him in shrinking down the population of metas.

I'm going from what happened once in a JL issue where KF did something similar to everyone around them. It'd be similar to what Magneto and Stryker wanted Xavier to do with his powers in X-Men 2.

Anyway I'm pretty curious about this.
