THE FLASH Is On High Alert In The New Promo For Season 5, Episode 21: "The Girl With The Red Lightning"

With only two episodes remaining, it looks like next week's penultimate installment of season five will see Team Flash confront Cicada II, but it may be a little too late when she unleashes a deadly virus.

The penultimate episode of The Flash season five is shaping up to be quite an event, as the Scarlet Speedster and Team Flash are put on high alert when Cicada II (Sarah Carter) threatens to unleash a dangerous virus that could threaten the lives of every meta in Central City.

With only two episodes left in the season, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that the Cicada conflict could be resolved next week, especially considering the fact that the synopsis for the season finale did confirm a final showdown between The Flash and the Reverse-Flash (Tom Cavanagh).

"The Girl With The Red Lightning" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, LV) (HDTV)

CICADA II MAKES HER MOVE - Team Flash is on high alert after Cicada II (guest star Sarah Carter) threatens to unleash a dangerous virus that would put all meta-humans at risk. Stefan Pleszczynski directed the episode written by Judalina Neira & Thomas Pound (#521). Original airdate 5/7/2019.

Matching wits with The Thinker, who by season’s end had harnessed the powers of all twelve bus metas he created, stretched Team Flash to their limits, but with the help of some new allies, Barry Allen (aka The Flash) and company were able to put a stop to the Enlightenment and save Central City once again. However, with the arrival of Barry and Iris’ speedster daughter, Nora, who arrived from the future admitting to having made a “big mistake,” things are anything but status quo. Will parenthood be the challenge that finally slows The Flash down?

Considering the streak of the lately episodes before the final two ones in past Seasons has not been as solid (Barry losing his memory and how he coped without the burden of everything and the Council of Wells last time plus the focus on Caitlin+Amunet) this turned out to be better, they learned how to keep the focus where it should.

They should make the senior Rogues from Iron Heights one day team up or mentor the Young Rogues, the interactions would be great to see. I liked how they made the team bond over the disappointment parental figures had on them. Since Weather Witch has been the most recurring one I have grown a bit fond of her and Ragdoll is second. Bug-Eyed Bandit needs more fleshing but her “bee gun” mixed with the metatech phone make for a good deadly combo.

Thought there was going to be more going for the subplot of Cisco coming clean if he’s satisfied with being Vibe but it was very few which turned out to be a big surprising. After that time with Sherloque they spent as hostage I think they will make the choice together for the sake of their relationships.

There were a few callbacks to S1 with Nora threatening Cisco with stabbing him with vibrating hand, Cisco referencing when he was kidnapped to help Rogues and Barry watching the footage when they almost caught RF felt nostalgic. Specially with how Joe reminded Barry that he always believed in Henry back then when he was still in prison, that did the trick in making him understand how Nora wasn’t so different.

Caitlin and Ralph's scene was hilarious. XD Foreboding as well with him meeting eventually Sue Dibny.

Sherloque posing as Flash was also funny. (“Is he drunk?” XD)

The trap they put on the Young Rogues was very cool. Fighting Ragdoll in a physical fight is the worst idea ever as Joe found out.

Flashtime comeback was good.

Mirror Gun finally introduced. Although it’s use seems to have changed if that is what will take to destroy Cicada II’s dagger, makes sense than an advanced metatech device takes out another one. Design wise it’s the same from the comics. Wonder if Evan McCulloch himself will appear next Season.

I think the wound with dark matter in Grace's head is making her see Orlin, not a bad way to keep Chris Klein around and until the end. Or could it be because little Grace is also there and their dark matter are intertwined?

I think they might have to choose between using the Mirror Gun to either destroy the cryo atomizer to stop the virus or the dagger, but not both.

Forgot to mention that what made cool Team Flash's plan was how they brought back H.R.'s little hologram device to not be detected by the Young Rogues, H.R. lives on through those little details.

I hurled a little bit in mouth when I saw Iris in camo gear. Junk episode as usual.

I think I'm done with the Flash. Last week I quit Legends, this week it's Flash's turn. Only Arrow for me from CW DC now.

@RageDriver2401 - this episode was complete trash; the first half was some of the shittiest tv from the Arrowverse I've seen in a while. I'm sticking with this show through Crisis, but after that I'm stopping.
