Get ready to see a whole new side of series regular Tom Cavanagh in episode three when Team Flash meets Sherloque Wells, who may or may not be the most trustworthy of allies. While we'll surely learn more about him next week, the first look photos do offer us a look at him working alongside Iris (Candice Patton) at S.T.A.R. Labs, so expect him to at least be a friend to the Scarlet Speedster in his introductory hour.
Speaking to CinemaBlend at SDCC earlier this year, Cavanagh shared a few interesting tidbits about his new character. "And so this year, we've got a lot of things that we have to solve, and I thought it'd be nice to have a dynamic where we have someone that we don't necessarily know that we can trust, but is undeniably brilliant. Which offers up its own things that you have to contend with when you deal with somebody like that. Because much like The Thinker last year, they're a few steps ahead. So we'll see that very early on with this character. We've got some backstory set up, which I don't want to spoil for you, but I think that character's going to be fodder for comedy, but also for good storytelling hopefully. So I'm looking forward to doing it."

CICADA TARGETS A MEMBER OF TEAM FLASH - After Cicada's (Chris Klein) attack on The Flash (Grant Gustin), the team realizes they need to think outside the box to stop this dangerous new foe. Desperate to help her parents, Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) comes up with a plan that ultimately puts a member of Team Flash in danger. Meanwhile, Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) delves into her past. Matching wits with The Thinker, who by season’s end had harnessed the powers of all twelve bus metas he created, stretched Team Flash to their limits, but with the help of some new allies, Barry Allen (aka The Flash) and company were able to put a stop to the Enlightenment and save Central City once again. However, with the arrival of Barry and Iris’ speedster daughter, Nora, who arrived from the future admitting to having made a “big mistake,” things are anything but status quo. Will parenthood be the challenge that finally slows The Flash down?
