THE FLASH: Mystery Girl Identity Revealed; Plus Details On That Shocking Return, Harry, & The Season 5 Villain

Compared to the last three season finales, tonight's episode ended on a relatively positive note, although it still had a big cliffhanger as we finally learned the identity of that mystery girl...

While many fans had already correctly deciphered the mystery of the mystery girl, tonight's season finale finally confirmed that she is indeed Nora Allen-West (Jessica Parker Kennedy), Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris' (Candice Patton) speedster daughter from 30 years in the future.

She formally introduced herself during the episode's closing moments after she crashed Team Flash's victory party to tell her father and the rest of the team of a huge mistake she's made and an even greater coming threat. Entertainment Weekly did learn that while there was something filmed to properly tease the Season 5 villain, it, unfortunately, had to be cut for time. However, according to producer Todd Helbing, that tag will eventually be released to the public and it seems like Comic-Con will be the likely venue.

Helbing briefly elaborates on Nora's mistake and why she chose to come back to this exact time period. "Barry certainly learned his lesson about time travel and the effects that it can have. She comes back for a specific reason, not only to see her parents and meet everybody on the team, which you saw all throughout the season — there’s four specific times that she came back, and you’re gonna learn about why she chose those four times and how they’re gonna play into not only the mistake that she made, but the consequences for somebody like her, a speedster traveling from the future to the past, and what that means for Barry and the team." He also teases her dynamic with the other team members and why she's been warmer to some while colder to others like Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker). "If you go back and watch all of the ways that she interacted with everybody, you can get a nice little sense of what her relationship is with everybody in the future." Speaking of Caitlin, she'll also have a big arc next season as she continues her efforts to reunite with Killer Frost and unlock the mysteries of her family.

Meanwhile, the finale also saw one big return as Barry managed to rescue Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) and one big exit as Harry (Tom Cavanagh) bid farewell to the team and went back home to Earth-2 to reunite with his daughter (Violett Beane). While Ralph's return was always planned, it sounds like Harry may be gone for a while, although that doesn't mean Tom Cavanagh is leaving the series. EW has since confirmed that he'll definitely be back next year, but he'll be tackling a fun new incarnation of Wells.

So, what did you think of the finale? Who do you want to see as the big bad for Season 5? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Last season, Barry Allen aka The Flash used his extraordinary abilities to travel back in time and save his mother’s life, and inadvertently created an alternate timeline known as Flashpoint. The phenomenon not only gave birth to the villainous God of Speed known as Savitar, but changed the lives of Caitlin Snow and Wally West forever. With the help of his adoptive father, Detective Joe West, his fiancée Iris West, and his friends at S.T.A.R. Labs – Cisco Ramon and Harrison Wells -- Barry continues to protect the people of Central City from the meta-humans that threaten it. But first, he’ll have to escape the Speed Force – an extra-dimensional entity teeming with unknown dangers – that Barry sacrificed himself to in order to save Central City.

The Flash features:
Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash
Candice Patton as Iris West-Allen
Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost
Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon/Vibe
Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells
Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West
John Wesley Shipp as Henry Allen/Jay Garrick
Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen
Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West/Kid Flash
Violett Beane as Jesse Quick
Tom Felton as Julian Dorn
Danielle Nicolet as Cecille Horton
Hartley Sawyer as Ralph Dibny/Elongated Man
Neil Sandilands as Clifford DeVoe/The Thinker

@JohnnyTBP - Yea bro, worst part is...they did it for no fvcking reason. LITERALLY said, "it didn't matter":

TODD HELBING: "When we first started talking about it, we decided on her name like a year ago, right around this time, after we’d pitched the season to the studio and network. It was to pay homage to Barry’s mother. It felt like if Barry and Iris were ever gonna have a child that would be female, that would be one of the names we brought up. It seemed like it didn’t matter — the second that we talked to Jessica Parker Kennedy, we knew that people were gonna figure out pretty quickly who she was. So we had to put a little spin to make it a little bit different than what everybody was expecting."

@JohnnyTBP - Well if she is a tornado twin, then naming her Nora and maybe her brother Henry would be better than naming them Don and Dawn, that could have led to some dumb jokes

The fight with Devoe in his mind was okay but I thought the episode overall was pretty good. I just kept thinking why didnt Barry and Dibny just run straight to the opening when they first saw it instead of fighting all the Devoes (but I get it, they needed to stretch it out somehow).

Didnt really feel like a "finale" except for a few key moments though.

A few things of note though:
- Cecille jumped into Caitlyn's mind for a second and we heard Killer Frost once again
- Does Dibny have all of the Thinker's powers now?
- Wally was a nice surprise
- Totally called the mystery girl being Nora Allen
- Pretty sure something big was suppose to happen when Barry went to punch the satellite (prompting Nora Allen to help him, altering time and creating her version of Flashpoint)

@Himura - Also wished Marlize stayed to help team Flash out next season. She seems like she'd fit perfectly into their group
