While the two-part crossover will officially kick-off at the tail-end of Monday night's episode of Supergirl, the bulk of the musical festivities will take place the following night on The Flashi

The installment will follow both Kara and Barry as they find themselves trapped in an alternate reality by the nefarious Music Meister, played by Darren Criss (Glee) where they find themselves without their superpowers. Now, with their options limited, the dynamic duo must team up and follow the Meister's script, which includes plenty of singing and dancing, if they hope to escape with their lives intact.

Check out the new poster and banner below:

"Duet" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

DARREN CRISS ("GLEE") GUEST STARS AS THE MUSIC MEISTER IN THE FLASH AND SUPERGIRL MUSICAL CROSSOVER - Barry (Grant Gustin) and team are surprised when Mon-El (guest star Chris Wood) and Hank Henshaw (guest star David Harewood) arrive on their Earth carrying a comatose Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) who was whammied by the Music Meister (guest star Darren Criss). Unable to wake her up, they turn to Team Flash to save her. However, the Music Meister surprises The Flash and puts him in a similar coma, one that Team Flash can't cure. Kara and Barry wake up without their powers in an alternate reality where life is like a musical and the only way to escape is by following the script, complete with singing and dancing, to the end. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing (#317). Original airdate 3/21/2017.

Blinded by anger, Barry unwittingly plays into Zoom's game and uncovers the evil speedster's true goal: to destroy all the earths in the multiverse. In the face of his life, Barry ultimately gets the upper hand against Zoom and defeats his nemesis. But unable to celebrate victory, Barry makes a world-shaking decision and speeds back in time to the night his mother died to stop Reverse Flash from killing her, irrevocably changing his past and redetermining his future.

The Flash features:
Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/Flash
Candice Patton as Iris West
Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow
Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon
Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells
Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West
John Wesley Shipp as Henry Allen/Jay Garrick

I love that poster with Barry and Kara. The other is cool too.

For some reason I can just hear Capital Cities' Safe And Sound playing over that one with them.

It even has lightning hitting that theater. :P

Hopefully the songs wont be annoying. La La Land was great and I believe the songwriter for la la land wrote an original song for this crossover aswell, so we'll see...

Still unhappy about NPH not playing the Music Meister, and the "alternate reality" approach seems like they cop out of commiting to the concept to a certain degree. But... I asked for a [frick]ing musical crossover and they're giving me one, so I can't be too cross with them.

Don't think I'll ever understand the musical haters we seem to have quite a few of around here, but I sincerely hope this doesn't affect your general opinion on the shows if you happen to like them otherwise.

Musical episodes can be the best ones if done right. "Once More With Feeling" from Buffy was the stand out episode and from what I hear, one of only two to be nominated for awards (Hush being the other).

OMWF will always be one of my go-to episodes to watch when I need a lift.

Well, If it's any constellation, I hope Warner Bros. & DC find a director for The Flash feature film.
