THE FLASH: There's A Monster Hiding In The Shadows In This New Trailer For Season 5

Last season ended on a pretty intriguing cliffhanger as Nora Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) finally introduced herself to her parents, Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton), and told them that she had made a grave mistake.

While we still don't know exactly what she's done, the latest trailer does confirm that she's actually stranded in the present and needs her parents to help to get back to the future. It also reveals that in her timeline, Barry had already defeated Cicada (Chris Klein), but it looks like her time-traveling exploits may have undone that and made the villain more dangerous than ever before.

Matching wits with The Thinker, who by season’s end had harnessed the powers of all twelve bus metas he created, stretched Team Flash to their limits, but with the help of some new allies, Barry Allen (aka The Flash) and company were able to put a stop to the Enlightenment and save Central City once again. However, with the arrival of Barry and Iris’ speedster daughter, Nora, who arrived from the future admitting to having made a “big mistake,” things are anything but status quo. Will parenthood be the challenge that finally slows The Flash down?

The Flash features:
Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash
Candice Patton as Iris West-Allen
Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost
Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon/Vibe
Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells
Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West
John Wesley Shipp as Henry Allen/Jay Garrick
Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen
Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West/Kid Flash
Violett Beane as Jesse Quick
Danielle Nicolet as Cecille Horton
Hartley Sawyer as Ralph Dibny/Elongated Man
Jessica Parker Kennedy as Nora Allen
Chris Klein as Cicada

The Flash returns with an all-new episode on October 9

Last season was an improvement over the last couple of seasons, hopefully they can get back to season 1 form.

@JoeMomma29 - I really enjoyed all the CW supers last season! Especially LoT - Gorilla Grodd in Vietnam! Haha so much fun.

This is the most serious Season premiere promo they've done ever. It doesn't have the freshness of S1, the positive and bold vibe of S2 and the Multiverse nor S3's timeline status quo or last year's reborn theme but this one carries a sense of dread and waryness. It is not wasting time in teasing the heavy implications of Nora's time travel.

I got "wtf" chills seeing Cicada there standing casually behind Joe at his house and knowing how the promos work this is all from the 1st episode. Like Cicada is not messing around nor wasting time, damn.

The breathing is already starting to sound creepy too. And it seems Nora's action do affect something regarding him because she's saying they did beat him when she comes from. Cicada looks quite casual there, but who knows, the stronger he gets he might end up changing his look. (Similar to DeVoe, but not bodies here just, you know, clothes until maybe he ends up resembling a little his comic book self, clothes-wise)

I think that person talking was the Sherlock-esque Wells assessing Cicada's MO.

I also like how the S5's promo style is more based on the lightning dagger that Cicada uses when it is activated. Hmm.
