THE FLASH, LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, BATWOMAN & Nine More Score Early Renewals; New Trailer Released

It doesn't sound like the Scarlet Speedster will be stopping his run anytime soon as The CW has issued an early renewal for The Flash along with Batwoman, Legends of Tomorrow, and nine more series!

The CW has officially renewed three of their DC TV series - The Flash (Season 8), DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (Season 7), and Batwoman (Season 3) - for new seasons, set to air in 2021-2022.

No word yet on Superman & Lois, but it's likely we'll hear something on that front after its two-hour premiere on February 23rd. Both Supergirl and Black Lightning will end their runs after their coming seasons.

The network has also issued renewals for their runaway hit Walker (Season 2) starring Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) as well as Riverdale (Season 6), All American (Season 4), Charmed (Season 4), Legacies (Season 4), In the Dark (Season 4), Roswell, New Mexico (Season 4), Nancy Drew (Season 3) and Dynasty (Season 5).

With The Flash set to return for its eighth season, it will now become the longest-running Arrowverse series, passing Arrow, and the second-longest live-action DC series ever, behind Smallville.

The first few episodes of the upcoming seventh season are expected to wrap up last season's central story, with the Scarlet Speedster (Grant Gustin) ultimately triumphing over the Mirror Master (Efrat Dor), but then, the majority of the season will shift its focus to a dangerous new threat that Barry has inadvertently released.

Check out the official season seven trailer below!

Barry Allen lived a normal life as a perpetually tardy C.S.I. in the Central City Police Department. Barry's life changed forever when the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator exploded, creating a dark-matter lightning storm that struck Barry, bestowing him with superspeed and making him the fastest man alive - The Flash. After a thrilling cliffhanger last season which saw the new Mirror Master victorious and still-at-large in Central City, The Flash must regroup in order to stop her and find a way to make contact with his missing wife, Iris West-Allen. With help from the rest of Team Flash, which includes superheroes Caitlin Snow, Cisco Ramon, Ralph Dibny, and Nash Wells, as well as the Flash's adoptive father Joe West, Meta-Attorney Cecile Horton, tough cub reporter Allegra Garcia and brilliant tech-nerd Chester P. Runk... Flash will ultimately defeat Mirror Master. But in doing so, he'll also unleash an even more powerful and devastating threat on Central City: one that threatens to tear his team - and his marriage - apart.

The Flash returns with a brand new episode on March 2

@HeavyMetal4Life - Damien was great , too bad he was the main villain of the worst season of the arrowverse

@dracula - I know I'm in the minority, but I'll take s4 of Arrow anyday over s3.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I don't know, Season 4 just didn't feel like Arrow at all and they made some of the dumbest decisions possible. (Killing Laurel who was really coming into her own again and her death being mostly Diggle's fault) (Also the show basically becoming Felicity and Friends)

@dracula - s3 was Felicity and Friends heavy. And as much as purists hated them killing Laurel, that decision was perfectly fine. Black Siren was 1000 times better than Laurel, and Laurel's character has grown stagnant after the 2nd season.

Weird considering a lot of these shows havent even started yet but cool.

Really surprised about Batwoman getting it right away considering the rating. Hopefully it gets better. Ill stick it out for the rest of the season but for now, while id say the new actress is better than Ruby Rose and the character is more fun, id say some of the writing is even worst. So far they have been repeating season one note for note and not doing it as well

@dracula - They probably did early renewals since it's already hard enough to film this season because of covid. I'm actually expecting shorter seasons all around.

That and I feel like there wont be too many new shows coming up this year so they need to keep their old shows around. I dont think covid has done filming pilots any favors.

@Himura - Makes sense. Hopefully they are able to film the full seasons, especially considering the fact that Supergirl is on its final season

Batwoman Season 3? Ratings doesn't matter when you have an agenda to push.

What are the odds of a new actress in the role if this one quits.

@marvel72 - While im willing to give the new actress a chance, yeah I wont be surprised if season 3 is the final season. No way a show can keep going with consistently low ratings.

@marvel72 -

Not just pushing an agenda. They want to have enough episodes so they can have a decent syndication
package, for other broadcast networks which is where they recover a lot of their costs.

It probably was more agenda-driven to not just cancel the show when Ruby left, but now that they
invested in another season, they are better off going with another season after that even with crashing ratings, with an eye on syndication.

I don't get how people watch tv shows. Its 2021, tv is dead.

Kinda funny John Campea said today he foresees the CW verse dying within a few years.

I agree, I think a lot of these shows are going to be pulled soon, but its had its success

The CW ordered more episodes from Superman and Lois I believe.

I wonder how long these shows will continue tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if at least one in the group of Flash, Legends, or Batwoman was announced within a year to end.

@HeavyMetal4Life - batwoman most likely. Ratings so far have been consistently low the past 3 episodes

@dracula - same thing for Legends, its not a ratings juggernaut.
dracula
dracula - 2/3/2021, 6:15 PM
@HeavyMetal4Life - Wow did not realize Legend's ratings were that low.

Really id say its not worth keeping going much longer, they just dont have the needed budget anymore. Past 2 seasons were pretty anticlimactic and they spent most of their time on the ship or modern day
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 2/3/2021, 6:54 PM
@dracula - last season was certainly a step back in the right direction after the really disappointing 4th season, but if they cant replicate the magic of s2 and s3, yeah probably best to wrap things up.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I really loved seasons 2 and 3 of Legends but these past 2 seasons just made me feel like they should just end the show.
