THE FLASH Season 8 "Armageddon" Trailer Features Some Big Cameos And [SPOILER]'s Return

The CW has released the first trailer for The Flash season 8, and the spotlight is put squarely on the "Armageddon" crossover that will feature characters like Black Lightning, The Atom, and Batwoman...

When The Flash returns for its eighth season, it will be with the five-part "Armageddon" storyline. That's set to incorporate characters from multiple DC TV shows, including Javicia Leslie as Batwoman, Brandon Routh as The Atom, Cress Williams as Black Lightning, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers/Sentinel, Kat McNamara as Green Arrow's future daughter, Mia Queen, and Osric Chau as Ryan Choi.

What brings The CWVerse's version of the "Justice League" together? Despero (Tony Curran), a deadly new villain who has set his sights on both the Fastest Man Alive and the entire Earth.

Described as "a powerful and intelligent alien possessing incredible powers," it's said that after Despero left his homeworld of Kalanor, the villain travelled to Earth "on a deadly mission, one whose outcome will decide the fate of humankind and put him on a collision course with Team Flash."

In this first trailer for The Flash, we see the heroes who will take centre stage in "Armageddon" and get a big surprise when Tom Cavanagh returns...as Harrison Wells! This could be the original, but seeing as time-travel clearly factors into the event (explaining Mia Queen's presence), we'd be willing to bet that Eobard Thawne, a.k.a. Reverse-Flash, has somehow returned.

If season one's Reverse-Flash is back, then it could tie into the recent news that Rick Cosnett is reprising his role as Eddie Thawne; his death wiped Eobard from existence.

The Flash returns to The CW on November 16.
