Thanks to an update over at the official Directors Guild of Canada Ontario website (via TitansPodcast), it's been revealed that Fringe director Brad Armstrong will helm the pilot episode of DC's live-action Titans TV series. Armstrong has also directed several episodes of The Wire, as well as features such as The Machinist and The Call.

In some related news, Starfire actress Anna Diop has shared a brief video clip of a VFX test for the show. Diop obviously isn't in costume as Koriand'r, but this seems to confirm that production should be underway fairly soon.

Titans will also star Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Teagan Croft as Raven, Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly as Hawk and Dove, and Lindsey Gort as Detective Amy Rohrbach. We're still awaiting a Beast Boy casting announcement.

The 13-episode series is set to premiere next year on DC's new streaming service.

Why do they always need to change race? I never understood that at all. StarFire has always appeared as White. She should be White. That's like making Cyborg white.
