TITANS Live-Action TV Series Adds TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Actor Alan Ritchson As Hawk

We previously reported on a rumor that Alan Ritchson (TMNT, Smallville) was in line for the role of Hawk in DC's live-action Teen Titans TV series, and that's now been confirmed. UPDATED With Dove casting.

Deadline reports that Alan Ritchson (Smallville, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) has joined the cast of the upcoming live-action Titans TV series as Hank Hall, a.k.a. Hawk.

That Hashtag Show actually broke the news that Hawk would feature on the show last week, and mentioned that Ritchson was up for the role. They also reckon DC is interested in Rebecca Rittenhouse (The Mindy Project) for Dove, so that's definitely worth keeping an eye on.

This small-screen take on Hawk is described as "an aggressive, offensive bruiser", while Dove is "strategic, defensive and lithe." It'll be a recurring role with an option to become a regular later on, and producers are also said to be thinking about a potential Hawk and Dove spinoff.

Ritchson's Hawk joins Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites), Starfire (Anna Diop), and Raven (Teagan Croft). Beast Boy has yet to be cast.

UPDATE: Deadline has now added that Friday Night Lights alumna Minka Kelly has been tapped to play Dove.

Don't mind me... Just waiting to see who they cast as Beast Boy, and how he'll look in live action.

@KWilly - I said this the other day! This is my main interest in the entire project. Ritchison will do well though.

I hate to be pessimistic, but I have never seen any DC-based TV series that I thought was even watchable, so I don't have high hopes.

Fan casting is...funny.

A wish that rarely comes true, the only time i got someone right was with Ryan as DP and Ra's al Ghul in Gotham.
That's it.

I'd like to see Eva Green as Catwoman, but...eh.

@Doomsday8888 -

Somebody once did a fancast of actors they'd like to see in a Star Wars movie, and I suggested that one day I would like to see Donnie Yen in one. This was way before there was even an inkling of him even being in it.
That's the only one of mine I've seen come true.

@Doomsday8888 - My proudest moment was when I said Ben Affleck would be a good Batman. My friends looked on in disgust, but I knew it would happen...I knew...
