The cast of DC Entertainment's live-action Titans has added another cast member today, this time in the form of Ryan Potter (Big Hero 6) as Beast Boy, a.k.a. Garfield "Gar" Logan. The character has become a fan-favourite after taking on a lead role in the animated Teen Titans Go series and it's been rumoured for a while that the shape-shifter would appear on the DC streaming service's first show.

According to the official character description for Titans, "Gar contracted a lethal disease on an African safari with his geneticist parents, only to experience some “bizarre side effects” after being treated with an experimental drug. In addition to his hair and skin turning completely green, Gar — described as both “wisecracking” and “fun-loving” — can also transform into animals of any size."

The live-action series revolves around a group of "soon-to-be superheroes from every corner of the DC Universe" who are recruited by Robin (Brenton Thwaites). Other cast members include Anna Diop (The Messengers) as Starfire, Teagan Croft (Home and Away) as Raven, Alan Ritchson (Blood Drive) as Hawk, Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Dove and Lindsey Gort (The Carrie Diaries) as Detective Amy Rohrbach. What do you guys make of this latest casting decision? Share your thoughts down below.

Don't know the actor but I assume they'd have picked him for being a good actor so I'm fine with this.

@noahthegrand - he's the guy that was campaigning so hard on Twitter to play Robyn in the DCEU.

Well, he got to play a superhero after all.

@supafairy - He's the second actor that has been "campaigning" for a role in the DCEU, only to end up on this show. Consolation prize, perhaps?

Wasn't this the guy that was nearly Robin in the DCEU?

@BoredSorcerer - He made an "audition" stunt video for (then director) Ben Affleck campaigning for Tim Drake in the DCEU.

It's pretty awesome considering Tim Drake sought out the role of Robin in the comics. Not to mention the dude can do stunts.

I'm actually really happy with this! He's been my fancast as Gar for a long time! I can't wait to see how everyone looks, I'm actually excited for this now.

But if they f**k up Raven, I swear to god...

@KelvTwelve - Namely because she's like the only... Teen, if that makes any sense. I'm not really worried about Raven herded being young. It's the fact that everyone else is so much older. It's kinda odd. Also hoping we see Static Shock in the show.

I like him for this. He also might've been a good Iron Fist if they decided to go younger.
