Confirming recent rumors, the official Titans Twitter account has revealed that Jonathan Crane, aka Scarecrow, will be introduced during the upcoming third season of the HBO Max series.
The classic Batman villain will be played by Angel and Mad Men alum Vincent Kartheiser. This take on the character is described as "an inmate at Arkham Asylum who used to terrorize Gotham City using toxins to exploit his enemies’ phobias."
We've seen several animated and live-action incarnations of the Prince of Panic over the years, with Cillian Murphy appearing as Crane in all three Christopher Nolan Batman movies, and Charlie Tahan portraying the baddie on Fox's Gotham.
We found out earlier this year that actress/musician Savannah Welch (Tree of Life, Boyhood) will play Barbara Gordon, while Damaris Lewis will also debut as the villainous Blackfire.
They join returning cast members Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Kory Anders, Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth, Ryan Potter as Garfield Logan, Curran Walters as Jason Todd, Conor Leslie as Donna Troy, Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger, Alan Ritchson as Hank Hall, Joshua Orpin as Superboy, Chelsea Zhang as Rose Wilson, Chella Man as Jericho, Drew Van Acker as Aqualad, Esai Morales as Deathstroke, Jay Lycurgo as Tim Drake and Iain Glen as Bruce Wayne.
Titans season 3 will air on the HBO Max streaming service. Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, and Greg Berlanti will once again serve as executive producers along with Greg Walker and Sarah Schechter
