TITANS Will Reportedly Feature Three DC Comics Heroes We Hadn't Been Made Aware Of Before

On the heels of last night's Dick Grayson/Robin casting news, a new report indicates that the Titans DC TV show is still seeking actors to play a trio of very recognizable DC heroes. More past the jump...

Last night, we found out that Pirates of The Caribbean actor Brenton Thwaites had been cast as Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing in the upcoming Titans TV series. We had been led to believe that we only had Beast Boy to go, but now That Hashtag Show is reporting that Hawk, Dove and Detective Amy Rohrbach will also be joining the fray.

In the comics, Hawk and Dove are a pair of crime-fighting vigilantes who have gone through several different incarnations over the years. Here are the breakdowns for the small-screen versions:

MOLLY Recurring Female (25-30) [Open ethnicity] Graceful master fighting machine. She straddles the world of being a thrill-seeking and do-gooding vigilante, along with being her crime fighting partner’s emotional anchor and caregiver. She loves him, but fears what he’s become…RECURRING GUEST STAR WITH SERIES REGULAR OPTION.

Apparently, DC is interested in Alan Ritchson (Smallville) and Rebecca Rittenhouse (The Mindy Project) for Hawk and Dove, respectively.

Meanwhile, the inclusion of Amy Rohrbach pretty much confirms that Grayson's arc will draw inspiration from the 90’s Nightwing series in which he was a member of the corrupt Bludhavan PD. In the comics, Rohrbach was one of the only clean cops working in Bludhaven and eventually became Nightwing's trusted ally.

Here's the casting breakdown for her character:

DET AMY ROHRBACH Supporting Female (25-35) [OPEN] She is the detective alongside Dick Grayson who knows more than she lets on. Pretty, has tattoos.

I hope the fact that this is not on the CW is a sign that it will be better than those series.

@RolandD - I like those series, but they could be better. I just finished Defenders and started catching up on Arrow and there is a deep step down.

@RolandD - Arrow Season 5 is much better than the previous two at least.

I guess I'm the opposite. While I appreciate the Netflix CB shows I honestly could not get into to them, I think I only managed to finish JJ and IF with a bit of regret (for both). Started watching Defenders and I got bored 1 and a half episode in, pretty much my experience with all of them. I really don't like any of the characters. They have great villains but not good enough to make me sit through the show. The production and choreography and the technical aspects of the show are amazing, it truly is.

I love Arrow for what it is, yes, it's had one bad season and one meh season but it's just so much fun to watch and I just love the characters so much, even Felicity has her moments. It's the same reason why i love LoT and Gotham, they just embrace what they are and just have fun doing it.

I guess being more of a DC comics fan in general has a lot to do with it too, I love X-men and Spider-Man but could never really get into the other Marvel properties. DC is more my type of stories and I really love all of the DC characters, I don't think there's actually a character that I truly dislike (I maybe think HQ is a bit overrated) but that's about that.

@Supafairy - I'm also more of a DC fan; I just want DCTV to up their game.

@JoeMomma29 - I hope that I can get through 4 quickly so I can get to 5.

Where do DC characters get their names? ROHRBACH? Is that supposed to not sound like Rorschach?

This could be good if it's in the Arrowverse. You could have Nightwing, Kid Flash, Roy, Raven, Starfire and Supergirl on the same team.
