Guillermo Del Toro And FX's THE STRAIN Adds Lauren Lee Smith To The Cast
Former CSI star Lauren Lee Smith has been added to FX's small screen adaptation of Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan's vampire novel trilogy, The Strain.
Deadline reports that Lauren Lee Smith (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) has joined the cast of The Strain as Dr. Ephraim Goodweather's (Corey Stoll) ex-wife. Kelly Goodweather. The site goes on to describe her character as follows: "After winning a bitter custody battle, she embarks on a new life with her boyfriend, but when she fails to heed her husband’s warning about the contagion spreading in Manhattan, she pays the ultimate price." The series has a pilot order (which will be helmed by the Pacific Rim director) but is being eyed for a full 13-episode pickup according to various outlets.
