During the Television Critics Association summer press tour earlier today, FX Networks announced that What We Do in the Shadows has been renewed for a fourth season, and to accompany the big news, they also dropped the official trailer for the upcoming third season.

Fans can’t seem to get enough of What We Do in the Shadows and FX is ready to feed that appetite by setting up the series for a fourth season. Our thanks to the extraordinary job by the creative team, cast, and crew who keep making a great show better each season.,” said FX Entertainment original programming chief Nick Grad in a statement.

The new season will pick up shortly after the shocking events of the season two finale, which saw Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) all discover that their seemingly mild-mannered human familiar Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) is actually an extremely gifted vampire hunter and a descendent of the legendary Van Helsing.

What We Do in the Shadows season three premieres on September 2 with back-to-back episodes. In the first of the two installments, "Guillermo's fate hangs in the balance as the vampires receive a promotion.," while the synopsis for the latter episode reads, "A forbidden artifact is used to help Nandor court a health club employee."

What We Do in the Shadows follows four vampires who’ve “lived” together for hundreds of years. In Season 3, the vampires are elevated to a new level of power and will encounter the vampire from which all vampires have descended, a tempting Siren, gargoyles, werewolf kickball, Atlantic City casinos, wellness cults, ex-girlfriends, gyms and supernatural curiosities galore.

Great news! The show, to me anyway, has surpassed the movie, which is also great.

@BlackBeltJones - I think season 2 had more funny moments but season 1's episode 7 (the one with all the actors that played vampires in various other movies) is still the peak.

This is one of the rare shows where there hasn’t been a bad episode. It’s the perfect blend of heart and humor that elevates it above anything else in TV. I can’t wait for the next season.

Still haven't watched it and this feels like a good reason to start. I know some episodes were broadcast on tv here recently, but out of order. Guess I gotta look up the right order and watch them back.

Best comedy on TV right now. Well, not right now right now... but right now when it is September 2nd. And that evening... so right now then, not right now now.

I have yet to watch this because of me being busy and having so many shows to catch up on, but for those who have watched it.....is it just like the movie Taika did? Comedy wise?

Because if so, I need to put this at the very top of my list.
