As many expected it would, HBO's Game of Thrones ruled the 68th annual Primetime Emmy Awards show last night. After nine Creative Arts Emmy wins last week, the epic fantasy drama picked up the awards for Outstanding Writing For A Drama Series and Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series for the critically acclaimed penultimate season 6 episode, "The Battle of the Bastards." Then, the show capped things off by winning Outstanding Drama Series for the second year in a row, making it the most awarded scripted series in Emmy history with 38 wins in total.
Disappointingly, there were no acting awards handed out, with Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Kit Harington, Maisie Williams and Emilia Clarke all losing out in the Best Supporting Actor categories.
