I have to agree, that is very epic and sweet. I like the crow/raven on the side. It's a nice touch.

Dragons, "Others"..which are basically demons, and also a race that are supposed to be akin to Elves I think, but are believed to be long extinct. I have only read the first book so not too sure if there will be more on that or not.

The world of Game of Thrones is very much like a true medieval historical piece. Ror was referring to the "Children of the Forest" that are essentially little elf-like people that are believed to be extinct. "The Others" are evil ice-like demons who inhabit the far north beyond "The Wall" a 700 ft wall of ice and earth that seperates the Seven Kingdoms in the South from the far north. The story revolves around several noble and royal families essentially fighting for control of the Iron Thone (which is what Sean Bean aka Eddard "Ned" Stark is sitting on). The Iron Throne is the seat of power on the continent of Westoros where the Seven Kingdoms are located. It was forged several centuries before the start of the show by Aegon the Conqueror using hundreds of swords taken from the armies of his defeated enemies.

I think Neil Gaiman said it best: 'George R.R. Martin is not your b!tch.'

And this looks awesome.

Hopefully HBO don't cancel this like they they did with carnivale. I've watched the 'making of' on youtube and the ideas that are going into this show sound impressive. I can't wait for it to come out.
