Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness might have been a villain in WandaVision, but she was still a hit with fans. The mischievous witch failed to defeat Wanda Maximoff and ended up trapped in her "Agnes" persona, though was likely freed when the Scarlet Witch "died."

It was during Agatha's time in Westview that we met her rabbit, Señor Scratchy, a pet many believe may, in fact, be Nicholas Scratch.

According to The Cosmic Circus, the rabbit is not that character but is "an entirely different demonic entity she obtained early on before her appearance in WandaVision." It sounds as if we should expect to learn more about how it, and other magical artefacts, came into her possession in the upcoming spin-off, Agatha: Coven of Chaos

As many of you will already know, the comic book version of Nicholas is Agatha's son. It's currently unclear how that will translate to the screen as the site declines to get into spoilers; they do, however, tease that "the show will play coy with that notion as the show will tie Nicholas Scratch to not just one mother but two."

One of those mothers may well be Aubrey Plaza's mystery character as Agatha: Coven of Chaos will reportedly reveal how they became romantically involved in 1693. Now, it's looking like she's actually Agatha's ex...

Back to this story, though, and the site goes on to reveal that Plaza's role in the series will be similar to Emilia Clarke's Secret Invasion character. G'iah. "Plaza will be playing an original character in the MCU," they explain, "[though] that does not mean her character won’t have roots tied to Marvel Comics."

We're definitely intrigued by what this series will bring to the table, and what exploring this corner of the MCU means for the shared world moving forward.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos is still expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2024.

My fear is that by the time we get to the big guns (mutants) they'll have to look around for D-list actors cause they've used up all the good ones in roles like Gorr the Jokester or some shit like that.

I’m looking forward to the world building and callbacks but not at the expense of writing and agenda.

I love the weird side of Marvel. Do it right, write it smart, act the [frick] out of it and I’m sold.

Ah yes, because Agatha is a character so heavily liked we need to know more about her rabbit and her ex-girlfriend... the [frick]. Can we please focus on characters people actually wanted like the X-Men, The Fantastic Four, maybe actually adapt the Defenders, Ghostrider even.

@Scarilian - Or, and hear me out, you could just watch the nice TV shows, or not, and not really worry about it.

You're tying your credibility to this fukcin show? To this fukcin project? Like are you serious?

"This" you take up arms for?

I'm not going to watch it and that was entirely my point here. If they keep making media targeted at a smaller and smaller percentage of the population adapting lesser and lesser known characters then they are going to lose a lot of the audience they have because they simply won't tune in.

It's very moronic from a company standpoint to not go in swinging with the big guns. They have proven characters that would act as money printers for them that have actually proven themselves and could be used to tell stories that fit the diverse and representational demographics they desire, X-Men being known for its allegories to varying social issues, and instead they are adapting Agatha Harkness because of a meme song and giving her an OC ex-girlfriend? [frick]ing lol.

@Scarilian - "I'm not going to watch it and that was entirely my point here."

Do you go onto forums to talk about every show you don't plan to watch, or just this one?

"instead they are adapting Agatha Harkness because of a meme song"

Yes, the studio is producing a spin-off of a very popular character. They wouldn't do this if they didn't think there was a chance it would be successful. Disney, and corporations like it, stopped making art years ago. They are making product to enrich their shareholders, full stop.

And listen, I, too, would like to see more X-Men movies. But Disney contractually forbidden from recasting those characters until 2025. Deadpool 3 will be the last hurrah for the Fox-Men, and then Disney will start spinning out their own Mutant yarns. You just gotta wait a few more years.

"Do you go onto forums to talk about every show you don't plan to watch, or just this one?"

Advertising, marketing and quality of media means your audience gets a taste of the product before it is released. Putting out information about your product that a lot of people will see and have opinions on, proceeding to discuss those opinions on public forums, but there's no guarantee that they want to buy or in this case watch the final product.

"the studio is producing a spin-off of a very popular character"

Disney are producing a spin-off because the song trended and the song got views - that does not equate to the character being popular.

"They wouldn't do this if they didn't think there was a chance it would be successful."

They were green-lit at a time when Disney was highly profitable and heavily pushing for female focused shows to try and catch a new audience - they hoped to expand their audience and that is the reason these shows were made. With the viewership of the shows and movies declining they don't have the finances to keep spending money on risky projects, so they have announced a decision to decrease the quantity and space out the shows.

"Disney contractually forbidden from recasting those characters until 2025."

Then you pick a handful of X-Men characters that have not been adapted, do a smaller scale special/series/film exploring what it's like to be a mutant and end the special/series/film with them being invited to join Xavier's school. A capable writer could make that concept work.

"Deadpool 3 will be the last hurrah for the Fox-Men"

Doubt it, the whole point of Secret Wars 2015-2016 was that you brought in everyone and the primary focus was between two universes that were having an incursion, the 616 universe and the 1610 universe.

• Deadpool 3 will deal with the Fox Universe collapsing due to an incursion caused by Deadpool's Time Travel shenanigans between the Fox-Verse and the 'Real World' in Deadpool 2's post-credit where he killed himself for writing Green Lantern. This explains why Wolverine is trying to kill him and why we saw the 20th Century Fox Logo in filming.

• Secret Wars however will be the Earth-838 from Doctor Strange 2 VS the 'Earth-19999' MCU before they team up to defeat Kang. Due to Earth-838 having a Charles Xavier, it's reasonable to expect the X-Men from that universe to show up in Secret Wars, some of which being played by the same actors others being recast. Similarly it allows them to have a fan-cast Fantastic Four led by Susan Storm along with her children in the wake of the death of her husband along with throwing in the Inhumans and any cameos they desire.

• Post-Secret Wars will likely be either a combination or a full reboot of X-Men characters in the MCU. I'd expect some to stay and be killed off, retire or replaced in order to help pass the mantle to the newer X-Men. For example, having Wolverine survive Secret Wars and be a teacher at Xavier's school or an elderly mentor to a new group of X-Men as I doubt they'll recast Wolverine so quickly after Deadpool 3.

Out of all the upcoming Disney+ shows, Agatha: Coven of Chaos is the most intriguing to me. I mean, I'm looking forward to Daredevil more, but I know what type of show we're going to get from it. Agatha, like WandaVision, has the potential to really change things up for the MCU.

I believe with Nicholas Scratch in the show, this is probably Joe Locke's character. It could explain the set photos we've seen between Kathryn Hahn and Joe Locke. They could be biologically, mother and son. Nicholas' two mothers could be Agatha and Aubrey Plaza's character. But I think Aubrey is most likely playing exactly as she's described; a crazy witch who is an ex and obsessed with Agatha. While Nicholas could end up being Billy, who's soul was passed into his teenage body when the Hex dropped. I suspect the actual two mothers are Agatha and Wanda. Agatha who is the biological mother to Nicholas and Wanda, who is mother of Billy's soul.

I don't want a Hulk/Banner dilemma with Nicholas Scratch, two souls fighting in the same body. So, I hope we learn Nicholas actually died or is brain-dead when Billy's soul took command of his body. Marvel Studios could retcon Agatha Harkness' motivation in WandaVision to play as Agatha was trying to bring her son back from the dead and needed Wanda's chaos magic to make it happen. Agatha seemed honestly interested in ep5 when Tommy asked Wanda to bring Sparky back from the dead.

In the comics, Nicholas Scratch's father is unknown but I'm going to take a wild guess since Mephisto is all over the origin of Billy and Tommy. My guess Mephisto is the biological father of Nicholas, played by Sacha Baron Cohen. Agatha could had given up Nicholas to the Kaplans to raise in order to hide him from the devil. Who knows Aubrey Plaza could be Mephisto in disguise trying to get closer to Nicholas, who as Billy might be estranged from Agatha, not really feeling he is her son, and is an easy target.

And yes, let the Mephisto theories start again. With Ironheart preceding this series, perhaps there will be more teeth to the theories.

Another original Mary Sue character proof that marvel studios were secretly invaded by feminiskrulls after the events of Endgame and are using established comic properties as a vessel to push their agenda.

So WandaVision was about an evil witch fighting an evil-er witch and this show will be about an evil-er witch fighting an evil-er-er witch.
