AGATHA: COVEN OF CHAOS Reportedly WON'T Feature [SPOILER] After All

We've been hearing rumors about a certain villain making their MCU debut in Agatha: Coven of Chaos for a while now, but it's now been confirmed that the character won't feature after all...

Ever since Marvel Studios' very first MCU-set Disney+ series, WandaVision, led to speculation that Mephisto might be behind the strange goings-on in Westview, there have been rumors relating to the demonic villain making his debut in a future show.

Last year, we finally got confirmation that Mephisto will factor into the Irohheart series, but rumor had it that he may also show up in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, with several online scoopers claiming that he'd be introduced as a long-time ally-turned-enemy of Harkness' coven.

However, @CanWeGetToast has now refuted these reports, claiming that Mephisto won't appear in the WandaVision spin-off, but will be referenced via Agatha's son Nicholas Scratch.

Even if Mephisto doesn't show up, it sounds like there'll be plenty of other problems for Harkness to contend with, including her ex Rio Vidal (Aubrey Plaza) and Salem's Seven.

Coven of Chaos will focus on powerful witch Agatha Harkness, who almost managed to defeat the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) in the season finale of WandaVision before being bested and trapped in Westview in her "nosy neighbour Agnes" persona.

Though Olsen is not expected to appear, there's speculation that Wanda might have something to do with Harkness' release and/or reformation following the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Jac Schaeffer, who is under a joint overall deal with Marvel and 20th Television, will serve as writer and executive producer and will also helm multiple episodes along with Gandja Monteiro (Wednesday; The Chi) and Rachel Goldberg (Cloak & Dagger; Mayans M.C.)

Maybe the real Mephisto were the friends we made along the way

Marvel, wtf are you doing? Mephisto isn't in the show about witches, but is in the first season of girl iron man?

Between this and the secret invasion finale, feige needs to stop with whatever he's smoking.

@Origame - I honestly think these tv series are hurting the brand. Having said that, I am looking forward to Loki S2 lol!

@Origame - They are trying to get people to watch IronHeart by adding a character they actually care about.

@Kadara - All these women are hurting the brand. Let's be real here.

@bl0odwerk - Come on now, Secret Invasion had huge male leads and it was still bad. I think after the heights of Infinity Wars, the bar was raised so high and then Kevin Feige hit us with the equivalent of what used to be Disney straight to VHS/DVD kinda quality.

@Kadara - they had huge male leads, yes. But they were utterly incompetent and needed to be saved by the women. Like all these crappy shows. 🙄

@mountainman - as is tradition.

You'd think they'd just make a show about an actually popular character, but you don't understand the business savy of the people that brought this to the world.

@Kadara - I don't mean just the ones in front of the camera. Truthfully, it's the ones BEHIND it...

@bl0odwerk - Fair enough, we can agree to disagree. At the very least we both agree that Marvel is not what it used to be which really is disappointing.

@Origame - Yeah I hear you. I'm thinking of Hawkeye became a supporting character in his own show. I have some vague memories of Hulk being easily tossed aside, both literally and figuratively as it turned out. I was focusing on the lack of quality writing and VFX but you can definitely add those valid points. It's like Marvel wanted to be a bit of everything and kinda let down their original core audience.

the tv shows are fun, but i also think they suffer from holding back too much. they hold back so much content for the movies and everything starts having a watered down feel to it. then in the movie said character gets a only small screen time but has a big audience pop in the theaters. it worked for a while but now they gotta hit the accelerator on content and lets get some actual characters and not boogeyman type references in the shows or watered down versions. i like she hulk, but there was no reason that the wrecking crew couldn't have been the actual wrecking crew instead of some wack bros hanging looking goofy.

@supermanrex - this a good point. If they do a show they shouldn’t be scared to go all out
