AGATHA: COVEN OF CHAOS Star Aubrey Plaza Teases A Mysterious New Marvel Studios Project

Agatha: Coven of Chaos star Aubrey Plaza to tease a mysterious new Marvel Cinematic Universe project that's titled "The Darkhold Diaries." Check that out, along with our take on what it means, right here...

Marvel Studios appears to be slowing down its yearly output, with 2023 Disney+ TV shows like Ironheart and Agatha: Coven of Chaos slipping into 2024. The latter is still shooting, of course, and will see Kathryn Hahn reprise her WandaVision role as Agatha Harkness.

Very little is known about the series, but with Kristen and Bobby Lopez penning songs for the spin-off, we're expecting it to feature several musical numbers.

That may well be what star Aubrey Plaza is teasing in a new Instagram post. As you can see below, she recently shared the logo of a project titled "The Darkhold Diaries." That brings to mind many a classic Disney fairy tale, with even the Marvel Studios font changed to resemble the classic Walt Disney logo.

We don't think this is a new MCU movie or TV show and, if anything, it's probably the name of an Agatha: Coven of Chaos episode. However, with so many scoopers strongly hinting that there's more to Plaza's character than meets the eye, perhaps this has something to do with the long-rumoured Mephisto Special Presentation?

Time will tell, but we're definitely intrigued Marvel Studios must have a good reason for shifting the spotlight back to a villain who was soundly defeated when she took on the Scarlet Witch.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos' supporting cast will feature a number of familiar faces from WandaVision, including Emma Caulfield Ford (Sarah Proctor), Debra Jo Rupp (Sharon Davis), David Payton (John Collins), David Lengel (Harold Proctor), Asif Ali (Abilash Tandon), Amos Glick (Dennis), Brian Brightman (Sheriff Miller), and Kate Forbes (Evanora Harkness).

New additions include Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, and Maria Dizzia.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos is currently expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in late 2023 or, more likely, early 2024.

Maybe it's actually the name of one of the show's musical songs performance?

BTW what's up with the bright light color for the forum? It's too much. Please change it back to the black one layout please @Natebest.

The Darkhold Diaries sounds like the perfect show to drop all at once on the same day. Or as a Special Presentation.

Anyway, the "diaries" part sounds kinda cringy. Wouldn't really say the Darkhold is a diary. Nothing demonic is diary imo

@bkmeijer1 - Well, maybe it's her diary about using the Darkhold. I mean when I was working my way through the Necronomicon I (We) kept careful notes (rituals) so that later if I (We and our legion) could to return to them I (We and the Army of Darkness) whenever I wanted to. And nothing bad happened (We will devour your soul). Who wants pudding-pops?

@StSteven - that's a good point. Still, it sounds kinda out of place. But yeah, I'll take some pudding-pops
