It's because they are the main characters of this show. Like it or not they are characters we are meant to follow. It's called Agents of Shield not Agents of Marvel. Which is why I think everyone is upset with this show just because of the new characters they have created and the lack of heroes or references. I think it's great how they are developing these characters throughout and not making them typically one dimensional. It's a broader experience to learn about them not just to see them in action constantly. I will agree the start of it has been lackluster from the pilot. If it was just the pilot being the only episode of this so far I would say it's going to get nowhere at all. But in fair terms it is starting to improve greatly. We are finally getting into more real intense drama and emotions. If you want your show about heroes watch Arrow. If you want your show about original characters and original stories watch Agents of Shield.

Beacause everyone really wanted to see Blizzard on AoS. I mean everyone was petitioning and having riots outside Marvel Studios saying "we [frick]ing need Blizzard."

This show should be called... Marvel Agents of S.H.I.T.E!

Because that's what this show is.

in the episode there's also the return of Iann Quinn, just sayn'
I think that he'll be a SHIELD student turned to evil, probably no uniform, probably he'll die at the end of the episode or he will disappear...

so...meh...

Oh as if...lol... The last time they introduced a villain, he didn't even got the chance TO BE A REAL SUPERVILLAN at all anyways.... so what's the bloody point now... One thing is for sure, this TV series will never get to Ten Seasons like SMALLVILLE.... hell, I don't think it'll ever get on par with Arrow TV series...lol...

I wonder if this villain that's being introduced will get a suit? This sort of interests me but i dont know if the writers will do the character justice.

Seems interesting. The guy has a link to Baron Zemo and the Thunderbolts too. I want to see what happens to that professor who worked on that gravity device in the earlier episode.

I think something got misinterpreted here...

Are we really supposed to believe a 16 year old actor will play an Iron Man villain?

It seems like he would be playing Donald Gill's son or something.

If you read the synopsis it says the team is heading to S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy so I'm assuming this guy will be a student. Maybe we're heading to Avengers Academy?

@MarkJulian: I think that the academy will be the same were Mike Peterson is been recruited.

@breakneckbeck: I'm afraid that the "big guns" can't be used for the show. They have a possibile pool of characters very "minor league" 'cause the big ones are required for the movies

They should introduce the Inhumans in the SHIELD show.

AOS so far reminds me of SMALLVILLE's first season. I stopped watching that WB show after 5 episodes, but that thing lasted a decade, so I assume they found their footing eventually.

And to those of you thinking that AoS is in danger of not being renewed for Season 2, TVbytheNumbers.com still has the show among a handful virtually guaranteed to continue in the Fall.
