The Team Face THE Lie Detector In A Clip From The Next AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

I don't think Black Widow has ever been called by that name in the MCU, except in THE AVENGERS, spoken in Russian in that warehouse scene.

@GliderMan, they dont call her Black Widow in the MCU. I can only remember Hawkeye only being called "Clint" as well.

Villain Ward is sooo much better than good guy Ward. It's actually fun to realize that his rather bland Ward persona so far was actually a role he played to deceive the team. I like it!

I actually don't mind the Black Widow reference any more so than the Fury mention. Widow was an official agent of SHIELD before she was an Avenger and she was a top agent at that with the scores to prove it. It's understandable that every other agent after her would be compared. I consider it more of a SHIELD reference than anything else.

They called him "The Hawk" in the opening scene to The Avengers.

The to soldiers trying to stop Ward and Garrett from entering the SHIELD base in the last episode were lame. Poor writing and acting there.

@GliderMan and @NoAssemblyReqd, some Hydra lackey on a radio tells Rumlow that "Black Widow" is in the World Security Council meeting room in TWS, so she has been referred to as that in the MCU.

@Kyos, I do like Ward as a villain. I will be disappointed if they make him good again.

They did call her Black Widow in TWS, I think Rumlow said it towards the end when he was trying to get to Pierce

Also, I'm liking the fleshing out of the villains in this show more and more. I love Arrow, but Rochev still needs a bit of work, and Brother Blood...I barely get why he does anything he does. Solomon Grundy is in the works, but he was barely utilized as a character other than a hunk of meat. Bronze Tiger is about as fleshed out as Sabretooth in the first X-Men movie. Deadshot and The Clock King were done well, and obviously Slade, but it shouldn't take two seasons to develop a villain. I'm loving the differences between Garrett, Ward, Raina, and Deathlok. Putting a dynamic to that "team".

Imagine if Ward was Struckers son?

I think Ward holds allegiance to Garrett, not HYDRA. That conflicts with his feelings for Skye. Everything else on either side is just business.

Wow you guys are so petty sometimes (and by sometimes I mean all the time) with your critiques. This is NOT A MOVIE PEOPLE!!!!

If you expect movie quality action, sfx, writing, then you all will be disappointed every time you watch the show, which I guess is everyone who complains on this thread, all the damn time!!!

I actually thought it was clever how they got into the fridge, although the guards were dumb. Not every agent is as good as romanoff. And yeah they didn't mention black widow in this episode.

I happen to love that coulson had a sort of breakdown in this episode and everyone though he was going haywire. It creates a dynamic where his team must trust him even if they don't trust shield right now.

And hell yeah Dark Ward kicks ass!!! FYI - the actor did not know about his flip to hydra until about half way through the season so he just though he was part of the team all along. That was good writing.... Since you're all bashing the writing all the time I thought I should give them a little credit for making us all believe that ward was a good guy thru and thru

Yeah she's called Black Widow over the radio near the end. As for the references...so what! Is it a big deal when Banner and Iron Man are referenced in The Winter Soldier? No..it's awesome right? But on a Marvel tv show set in the same universe it sucks? Fanboy logic alludes me yet again.

ElDarkside - 4/17/2014, 11:37 AM
*they just said romanoff. A reference to a shield agent. Not an avengers reference...

They had said for at least four episodes, and it was the same for Triplett. I thought of that too, but we'll see.

@0mega

I think this will actually be the 5th episode for Paxton. He appeared in T.A.H.I.T.I., End of the Beginning, Turn Turn Turn, and Providence. But from a quick IMDb check, he's not listed for any of the next 3 episodes...

Garret is Ward's older brother who saved him when he was in the well.
