ECHO's Villains May Have Been Revealed And The Group Has Ties To A Classic DAREDEVIL Bad Guy

A new report seemingly reveals Echo's main villains, and they're a group that has some very interesting ties to classic Daredevil villain Bullseye. Find more details on what to expect after the jump...

We first met Maya Lopez in last year's Hawkeye, and the character will next be seen in her own Disney+ solo outing, Echo. Set photos have already confirmed that Vincent D'Onofrio will reprise the role of The Kingpin, while it's been rumoured on multiple occasions that we'll also see Charlie Cox's Daredevil in the series.

Beyond that, not much is known about what to expect, though Screen Geek has now shared some details on the show's possible villains.

According to the site, the former criminal will be squaring off with the Black Knife Cartel.

Like the ClanDestine, this is a very obscure group from the comics who we anticipate being reinvented somewhat for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Led by a sadistic drug lord called Teodor Zarco, each member of the cartel has marked their forehead with an "X" sign. Teodor is a twisted, evil gangster who doesn't have a history with Echo...he has, however, crossed paths with Bullseye.

When the ruthless assassin was hired by a New York mobster to rescue his son after he'd been taken hostage by the Black Knife Cartel, they even got the better of the man who never misses. However, Bullseye ultimately killed Teodor, establishing himself the superior combatant.

While this doesn't necessarily mean we'll see Bullseye in Echo, we have to believe it's a possibility. After all, it appears Wilson Fisk survived being gunned down by his "niece," so how better to take his revenge than sending his greatest assassin after her?

This would nicely set the stage for Bullseye, a character whose origin story played out in Daredevil season 3, to appear in 2024's Daredevil: Born Again. We'll have to wait and see on that front, of course, but it would be crazy if Marvel Studios doesn't include the Man Without Fear's greatest rival in one of these future stories.

Echo is set to premiere on Disney+ next summer.

Deep cut villains for sure. I enjoyed the Bullseye run a lot. You see what makes him tick and a guy like this isn’t going to grow as a a character and that works. The story had some real psychological mayhem.

This is why Marvel is becoming tiring, "the "Black Knife Cartel?" Yeah, put that on a billboard.

I can imagine Bullseye killing Teodor Zarco, then he leads Black Knife Cartel and uses them as "cannon fodder". Bullseye doesn't want to be a leader, but he needs a distraction and expendable people. Human garbage ready to die.

I would like it if they bring back the actor who played Bulls-Eye in the show as I felt that he did a great job. No explanation necessary, no back story. We've all seen it and Marvel knows that. Just Fisk saying something like "I need a specialist for this. Someone... who won't miss". in his raspy voice. Then we see Dex on the phone getting the order and putting on a comic accurate costume (that's a little more grounded than the navy blue and white one). That's it. BOOM! Done.

@StSteven - we ABSOLUTELY need to get Wilson Bethel back as Bullseye. What a great performance from him.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Seriously. He played it just this side of crazy where you’re left wondering what’s going on inside his head. Like, is he batshit gonzo-burgers or does he know exactly what he’s doing? That second gif that you posted is exactly that question.

This show is gonna be a Daredevil show guest starring Echo in her own show. Because the majority would not watch it otherwise
