Here's some news that should make Falcon-Winter Soldier bromance fans very happy!

According to Variety, Empire writer Malcolm Spellman has been hired to pen a new limited series for Disney's streaming service that'll focus on both Marvel heroes, who were last seen turning to piles of ash at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie are expected to reprise their Marvel Cinematic Universe roles as Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson, respectively.

Last month, news broke that several news series were being developed for the new streaming service which would give the spotlight to MCU characters that have yet to - and presumably won't - be the focus of their own standalone movies. The budgets for the shows weren't revealed, but they are said to be "hefty," rivaling those of a major studio productions.

Kevin Feige is expected to be "heavily involved" with the shows.

Fantastic news, just excellent. This and the Scarlet Witch series really have me excited.

@HeavyMetal4Life - This partnership has some potential - they are hilarious and competitive. The idea of them being in a series together reminds me a bit of the old Marvel two in one comic (which along with Marvel Team up was gold)

If this rumour is true, after Scarlet Witch series, this one has me truly interested to see developed.

Maybe this series will be where one of them begins their Captain America career...I'd pay to see that!

So no new Cap trilogy? Not sure what to think of it. I love them both but really want to see one of them take up the mantle of Cap in a film. Guess we'll see

@Lehnhart - maybe the series is the prologue for the new Cap. Disney wouldn't be spending A-list actor money on a TV show unless they really wanted to prepare the audience for potential new films.
