FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER Star Danny Ramirez Excited To Explore Joaquin's Past & What The Future May Hold

As we near the series finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we were able to catch up with star Danny Ramirez and chat with him about his key role as Sam Wilson's new wingman, Joaquin Torres!

With the series finale swiftly approaching, we were able able to sit down with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star Danny Ramirez and talk to him about playing Sam Wilson's pal Joaquin Torres and what his experience has been like entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While Ramirez's casting was widely reported when production initially began, the fact that he would be playing Joaquin Torres, a.k.a. the second Falcon from Marvel Comics, wasn't officially confirmed until we reported it back in March. Since then, he's appeared sporadically throughout the season, and has quickly proven himself as a reliable ally for both Sam (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky (Sebastian Stan).

Now, with Sam leaving him the damaged wings in last week's penultimate episode, it's probably not a stretch to assume that Marvel Studios may have some sort of plan mapped out for him. Unsurprisingly, he couldn't reveal too much about what's to come in Friday's finale, but he did express his excitement about getting more opportunities to explore both Joaquin's past and his future.

"I think with the deviations with comics and the MCU, I didn’t necessarily want to take away - we don’t know Joaquin’s origin story. We start out with him as he’s helping Sam out, episode one, so I’m excited if there’s ever a chance to dive into where he comes from and his way into the Air Force, but yeah, so I think there’s so much to discover in him still and his past and what his future holds. So, yeah, there’s just so much to try and look forward to."

Since both WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier have had great success pairing off a few fan-favorite characters, it's fair to wonder whether Ramirez envisions himself partnering up with another character from the greater MCU in his own Disney+ series down the line. While he admits that he doesn't want to name anyone specific just yet, he is looking forward to hopefully working with more MCU actors and learning from them as he continues to grow as a performer.

"It’s a tough question to answer because, me as Danny, I’m like there are so many great actors in the MCU that I would love to be in scenes with every one of them. My experience with acting with Anthony and Sebastian, more so with Anthony since we had bigger scenes together, was just how alive it was and I think that was so refreshing because of the talent that Anthony brings to any scene, there’s always something so fresh about it, which I think, as the type of actor I am, that’s what inspires me and drives me, so I’m curious - I’d love a scene with everyone in the MCU just to feel how that would be and what these scenes turn into."

I mean we havent even really gotten Sam's backstory yet, thats kind of reserved for solo movies. We know Sam joined the military at some point and that his wingman Riley died but other than than everything else has been moving forward so I doubt we'll ever see it

He's has a charming level of energy about him and has managed to make what little screen time he's had his own, so he's not a deal breaker.

@dracula - Not at all. Blindly got a serum derived from the hulk, walker got a serum derived from isaiah

@dracula - I’d love to see them delve into all the attempts to recreate the serum, the hulk one obviously, maybe some failed attempts internationally. I’d imagine they’d work weapon X in as an attempt to, not sure if that connection is ever made in the comics or if they are always separate things

Is the hashtag show reliable? They've got a story the Netflix marvel characters are back but the actors will be playing different versions and past occurrences won't be referenced?

Really hope they delve into his background as an undocumented immigrant. Though I don't know where unless we get a second season/sequel series.
