THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER: Chris Evans Doesn't Expect To Return As Old Man Captain America

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier seems like the perfect place to bring Chris Evans back as Steve Rogers, but the Knives Out star has now revealed why he doesn't expect that to happen. Check it out...

Avengers: Endgame ended with Steve Rogers travelling to the past and then returning to the present day as an old man. While Chris Evans' tenure as Captain America is at an end, it's hard to imagine the character being killed off screen, and many fans wonder if he could appear in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier on Disney+ when it streams next year.

Well, during a recent interview, Evans was asked about the possibility of showing up in the highly anticipated series and while he's clearly open to reprising the role one day, it sounds like the actor wants it to be meaningful and something that pays homage to the time he spent in the MCU.

"Probably not," Evans said when asked a return in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. "There were a million ways that tenure with Marvel could have gone wrong and it didn't so to stick the landing so well, it would be a shame to kind of revisit unless there was something unique that we felt the need to reveal. For now, it just feel like 'Let's be content with how well it ended.'"

Steve Rogers is bound to be referenced in some way in the show, but for now, it sounds like an actual appearance is off the table. What do you guys think about the actor's comments here?

Steve Rogers is sure to be important in the Show. Somehow, the creators of U.S. Agent have obtained the Super Soldier Serum. Either they have obtained Cap's blood serum or it is a new version of Ross's serum.

@Repian - would be neat if they brought back Blomsky too in my opinion

@Repian - Well Cap and Peggy did have kids, at least some of the effects of that serum had to be passed down

@GodHercules20 - I really wouldn't be surprised if they're gonna use him here now. Hammer and Ghost are probably in Ant-Man 3

I really think his character is gonna die off-screen, but still his absence is gonna play an important role in the show

I think Evans is right in what he's saying. Its just that it sucks there wont be a true Cap in the show. Dont get me wrong ..im all for Black Cap..100%. Gave me chills when cap handed the shield to Sam. But i want Sam to be suped up with a serum or something man. Having the shield and a good heart doesnt make up for everything lol! Sams gonna need a boost if he's gonna fight the good fight.

I figured Old Steve went back to his own timeline after he dropped off the shield.

@Hyperborean - I’d imagine Peggy was gone by then but if he had kids then probably

I honestly think they should've killed him in battle. I know we like the happy endings for our heroes most but I think we could've avoided all these questions and where is he's if they would've just killed him.

Did old man cap actually die in between endgame and FFH or was the public just told cap was dead for some weird reason

He might not appear in this series but I have no doubt that he’ll show up in the broader MCU at some point in the future...Not talking about some cameo or doing voice work either...

@blackandyellow -

Hate to be that guy but as you can see in my username. Cap wouldn't be a baby boomer. Any kids he possibly had with Peggy after the war would be boomers.

That makes 0 sense. Unless they kill him offscreen, Cap is still alive and around in this world. He wouldn’t just come to give Sam the shield then dip to play bingo
