Hailee Steinfeld is one of the only actors to play two Marvel superheroes simultaneously as the MCU's new Hawkeye and the Spider-Verse's Spider-Gwen.
She'll reprise the latter role in this summer's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, though there have been no updates about Marvel Studios' possible plans for a second season of Hawkeye. Even if it was in the works, the series has likely been indefinitely delayed following Jeremy Renner's accident earlier this year, an incident which very nearly cost the actor his life.
During an interview at CinemaCon earlier this week, Steinfeld confirmed she's been in touch with Renner since his near-miss back in January.
"I have [spoken to him]. I'm going to get emotional talking about it," she admits. "I'm so grateful that he's okay. He's truly made a miraculous recovery. I go back to thinking about how excited I was just to meet him and then I realized very quickly, I can't believe I'm going to admit this but I will for Jeremy: as Kate Bishop is to Clint [Barton], I am that way with Jeremy."
"I just couldn't be more grateful that he's okay. He's more than okay. He's such a fighter."
Steinfeld was also asked if she knows when and where Kate Bishop will return to the MCU and gave a cheeky smile before saying, "Maybe."
We're guessing Marvel Studios has given the busy actor a heads up about when they'll need her and we're hoping it will be before Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (though that movie does seem the most likely upcoming project for her to take centre stage in).
