Apparently Marvel Is Having Trouble With IRON FIST

Is there a reason why the only Marvel Netflix TV series we haven't heard a single thing about yet is Iron Fist? We figured it was probably just because they were focusing on Jessica Jones and Luke Cage (which debut first), but there could be a bit more to it than that. Click on for more...

A new report from Birth.Movies.Death may shed some light on whey we haven't heard a peep about Marvel and Netflix's plans for their small-screen take on Iron Fist. We know season 2 of Daredevil is shaping up nicely, Jessica Jones is well into production, and word is Luke Cage is in the writing stage with more than half the season down - but, it sounds like they're finding ol' Danny Rand a slightly tougher nut to crack.

According to BMD, they've brought in lots of people to advise and pitch ideas, but are still having trouble settling on a direction for the show. Why? Them pesky mystical superpowers. Iron Fist's chi-channelling manifests in some pretty out there visuals in the comics, and apparently Marvel are unsure of how far to take that in live-action. Though the first season of Daredevil did hint at some supernatural elements, for the most part it was pretty grounded so perhaps they're worried about straying too far away from that?

Even if this is accurate, they have lots of time to figure it out so it shouldn't pose too much of a problem for Danny Rand's eventual debut. By the sounds of things though, he definitely won't be popping up in any of the earlier shows.

Good. Cancel Iron Fist. You tried Marvel but failed.

Who knows, maybe Netflix will try to do an Abe Sapien or a Lobster Johnson series with del Toro producing.

You would love that wouldn't you @Blackandyellow

They should just go look at Brubaker and Fraction's run and just go full mystic with K'un Lun, Davos, the Seven Capital Cities Battle Royale, etc etc

Set it in NY for like the first episode.

They should get Uwe Boll to be the showrunner and direct every episode. He seems like a swell guy that has a good head on his shoulders.

What would be your thoughts on Uwe Boll being the director and showrunner of Iron Fist @blackandyellow ? You a fan of Uwe Boll and his critically acclaimed work?

Go 100% weird with 100% grit. That's the only way it's gonna work. Iron Fist is one of those rare properties where you can circumvent the zany aspects and still have it work. You have to accept the mystical element in full.

What. The. [frick].

How can they not know what direction to go with Iron Fist but shit characters like Ant-Man and Jessica Jones don't have a problem? Start the series with him as a kid, dad dies, he gets stuck in K'un-Lun. Training montage, rivalry with Steel Serpent, killing Shou-Lao, then fighting off a coup d'etat by Steel Serpent. Last episode - Danny arrives back on Earth, goes to NY and meets Luke Cage, Steel Serpent goes to the Hand to form a partnership.

........Iron Fist is like Daredevil but with a glowing hand. If they can make AOS and Agent Carter work........I think IF can work as well.

@blackandyellow

At least they never had troubles in adapting 2 Hellboy films like they do adapting Iron Fist.

Doesn't sound like "trouble" , more like they are brainstorming and working to bring us the best possible Iron Fist

Can't Wait

I'm still really impressed with the Daredevil show

I wouldn't doubt Faraci. He's not bad. He's got more scoops right than wrong. He's got a good head on his shoulders. He's a smart guy. I'd trust him.
