JESSICA JONES Season 3 Featurette Sees Rachael Taylor's Trish Walker Suit Up... As Hellcat?

A new featurette for the third and final season of Marvel and Netflix's Jessica Jones has been released, and it gives us a quick glimpse of Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) sporting a makeshift costume...

The announcement teaser for Jessica Jones season 3 didn't give us a whole lot to go on, but this new featurette may have provided us with a much better idea of what to expect from the overarching plot.

The video gives us a BTS look at star Krysten Ritter in the director's chair as she calls the shots on a Trish-centric episode, and at one point we get a blink-and-you'll-miss-it glimpse of Miss Walker hitting the streets in what appears to be a makeshift superhero (villain?) costume.

Although it looks nothing like the Hellcat outfit "Patsy" sports in the comics, there's a chance she will assume that identity in this final season as she finds herself at odds with the hard drinking PI after the bloody events of the season 2 finale.

Check out the featurette for yourselves and let us know what you think.

When Jessica (Krysten Ritter) crosses paths with a highly intelligent psychopath, she and Trish (Rachael Taylor) must repair their fractured relationship and team up to take him down. But a devastating loss reveals their conflicting ideas of heroism and sets them on a collision course that will forever change them both.

Jessica Jones season 3 premieres on Netflix on June 14, 2019.

Hoping this season was 100% directed by women again, tbh.

@thomashilfiger - not that gender has anything to do with quality but if its like season 2, its going to be super boring.

@thomashilfiger - Why? How is that diverse? And are there any minorities directing this season?

@thomashilfiger - Season 2's biggest problem was the lack of uniformity and vision, because we had 16 writers and one different director for each episode. Everyone trying to do their own shit. Female directors? 100%. But 1 or 2, not 13.

I enjoyed season 1 quite a bit thanks to Ritter and Tennant and Eka Darville.

Season 2 was a step backward. Here's to hoping that the last season is a return to those season 1 episodes.

Good featurette. Lame story headline. Some costume.

I hardly call a wool hat over the head and a scarf over the face a "costume".

@Dojen - You should, cos Netflix does.

After seeing what the Netflix stuff has done broadly, and especially Jessica Jones' second season, it would have been foolish to expect a costume costume. But still... Hellcat was always the dream. If you can take Patsy Walker and turn her into a bonafide superhero (complete with all the silly trappings), it was a sign we'd grown beyond the Singerized-Nolanized paranoia about the aesthetics of the genre.

But Netflix let me down in a big way (not just because of the costumes, that's a symptom, but not a major cause). Daredevil's third season was really the moment that pulled the rug out for me. I know a lot of you guys like it, but for me it was a sign that they had gotten spooked when they fumbled the Hand. They went right back to their comfort zones of dark lighting, "character studies", and constant portent.

I still love most of the casting and respect the effort. And I'm not calling any of it crap (it's still the best constructed corpus of comicbook media out there outside of the MCU-proper), but...

@Spock0Clock - I agree... I couldn’t even finish DD season 3... didn’t finish punisher season 1... I just found their particular way of storytelling to be a bit flat. Each season had such tiny arcs that I just couldn’t stay very interested. Casting is/was great... enjoyed JJ and DD season 1... enjoyed DD season 2 for the most part as well... I think I just got burnt out on their pacing and lack of growth as a series... (not to say there wasn’t any growth... just not enough from season to season imo)... 🤷🏻‍♂️

@CapnMurphy2021 - I would say DD season 3 was the best season, but agree with you over-all.

I wish they either did six episode arcs, or two interconnected storylines per 13 episodes.

13 episodes for one noir style story is too slow.

Still am miffed they didn't include the Defenders in that last battle scene in Endgame. Man, what a missed opportunity.

@Philvis - Yeah, I wanted the same thing, but I get it now with how the Netflix contracts have fallen apart.

Dangerous to risk any cross-over. I was hoping to at least see a silhouette of wolverines claws coming through the portals.

If this is anything like season 2, I will be avoiding the final season.

Season 1 was phenomenal but season 2 was the worst of Netflix/Marvel. Hopefully this final season is closer to the former.

It's very good. The costume looks .. strange and very yellow! Watching the characters struggle with moral choices is really enlightening.

@SpiritJoe - Wait... yellow? I guess I blunk, because I actually didn't see this.
