LOKI Puts His New Powers To The Test In A Clip From Tonight's Season 2 Finale

Marvel Studios has released a first look at tonight's season 2 finale of Loki, and it finds the God of Mischief putting his new time-slipping powers to the test...

The season 2 finale of Loki is set to premiere on Disney+ later tonight (or early tomorrow morning, depending on your timezone), and Marvel Studios has now officially released the opening sequence online.

In last week's penultimate episode, the God of Mischief was finally able to get his time-slipping abilities under his control, and it looks like he'll be wasting no time at all putting them to the test.

The clip begins with a reverse shot of the Marvel Studios logo, as we gradually zoom towards the TVA's control room, where Victor Timely is just about to make another attempt to stabilize the temporal loom - hopefully without turning into spaghetti this time!

We're not sure if Loki made some adjustments to ensure Timely's safety, but even if he succeeds, we can't imagine everything going off without a hitch when we still have a full episode to go! It's been confirmed that this season won't end on another cliffhanger, but there's bound to be at least some set-up for future projects.

Check out the clip below along with a new promo poster, and let us know if you've been enjoying season 2 of Loki in the comments section.

Loki season 2 "promises new excitement as it thrusts the infamous God of Mischief into a new set of adventures with the TVA."

The series stars Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Neil Ellice, with Jonathan Majors, Ke Huy Quan and Owen Wilson.

Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw and Kasra Farahani will direct all six episodes.

The head writer is Eric Martin. Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kevin R. Wright, Tom Hiddleston, Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Eric Martin and Michael Waldron are the executive producers, with Trevor Waterson serving as co-executive producer.

The first five episodes of Loki season 2 are now streaming on Disney+.

These pandering gifs are really [frick]ing annoying. South Park is great but yeah, we get it…

I’ve loved this run of Loki. The week to week thing is getting old though. I know they’re trying to get away from binging, but I like to space things out 2 by 2.

I hope something happens in tonights episode instead of eating and running around corridors.

Number one priority for me is trying not to fall asleep.

My dream for Moon Knight Season 2 is it changes to TV-MA with the writers and directors of Loki Season 2 taking over and it flirts between street level problems and spiritual/deity problems.

I miss Legends of Tomorrow when it comes to comicbook/superheroes doing time travel shenanigans.

But...

If anyone is even remotely interested in GOOD time travel movies/tv shows, give Twelve Monkeys (TV Show) a go! That series is the best to me when it comes to time travel and I have yet to see anything, on big screen or small, as good as that let alone surpass it.

@TheOtherOn - I liked the earlier seasons.

@DarthOmega - Yup, it's definitely not perfect and does feel like a little stretched out in Season 3 and parts of Season 4 but last few episodes are banger! And as I mentioned, when it comes to time travel stuff, to me this is simply the best of the bunch. And that includes Back to the Future movies too.

I watched/read many interviews afterwards and the best thing about the ending is, they ALWAYS knew and planned it right from the start when and how it's gonna end. And watching those final episodes referencing back to the events occurred in Season 1 makes it all that better.
