During a live audio webcast for investors earlier today, The Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger officially unveiled the name of the House of Mouse's upcoming streaming service, which will be called Disney+. The service is currently scheduled to launch in late 2019.

As part of their announcement, Iger officially confirmed that Marvel Studios is indeed developing an original series for Disney+ centered on Loki, with Tom Hiddleston reprising his fan-favorite role as the God of Mischief. An official title hasn't been given, but expect to learn a whole lot more about the project when it goes into production sometime next year.

Loki joins a pair of confirmed live-action Star Wars universe series, The Mandalorian and the Untitled Cassian Andor Project, as well as original series based on Monsters Inc. and High School Musical.

Marvel Studios is also reportedly in the midst of developing a number of series for Disney+ based on some of their most popular supporting characters, including the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and a Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) & Falcon (Anthony Mackie) team-up series. Since Iger opted not to mention either, it's probably safe to assume they're not as far along as Loki.

Disney+ is also assembling a live-action series centered around a fan-favorite character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iger today confirmed that Marvel Studios is developing a series based on Loki, the god of mischief, to star Tom Hiddleston.

So there's going to be 11 TV shows overall set in the MCU. And that number's only going to increase.
