For fans of physical media, streaming titles have proven to be the bane of their existence. While some TV shows and movies are released on Blu-ray, the majority aren't, including Marvel Studios' Disney+ offerings.

However, that's finally changed as Disney has today announced that WandaVision and Loki will soon be available on Collector's Edition 4K UHD and Blu-ray for fans to add to their movie collections, featuring Steelbook packaging, concept art cards, and some never-before-seen bonus features.

Loki: The Complete First Season will be released on September 26, while WandaVision is set to follow on November 28. Pre-orders begin on August 28.

Both MCU TV shows will be available in the U.S. on Blu-ray Steelbook with brand-new box art designed by popular artist Attila Szarka. Thus far, we only have a list of Special Features for Loki, and it's the two deleted scenes we think are probably the most exciting offerings...

Yes, we're finally going to see that much-talked-about sequence featuring the God of Mischief taking a beating from Throg, God of Thunder. Marvel Studios has been sitting on it for a reason, and this is clearly it.

Whether the rest of Marvel Studios' MCU TV shows will follow remains to be seen, though we're guessing it will be a 2+ year wait between when they hit streaming and their arrival in stores.

I know it seems stupid to include a digital copy because it is streaming online, but I would love to be able to have all my MCU content in one digital library that I personally own. The Disney+ content does not include all the movies (for now), and a lot of the bonus features are missing as well. Oh well.

Mando as well but you just have to make another article lol https://twitter.com/TheDiscFather/status/1693634413765025888?t=AqwXNe2pmhS5fBCVzxbT9g&s=19 these look pretty sweet. Disney used to be king of the physical media, they been slacking for the past decade. It seems they're finally getting the hint lol. Also there's a sweet Prey steelbook at Best Buy. LONG LIVE PHYSICAL MEDIA! [frick] streaming, I'm not gonna bother bringing up the thousand different reasons why

I have a question, is it still worth it to buy DVD's if the shows are available on Disney+?
RitoRevolto
RitoRevolto - 8/21/2023, 11:23 AM
@HammerLegFoot - Not that I think Disney will remove these two anytime soon, but we've seen multiple streamers remove their own exclusive content with no physical copies on the market. Guess it just depends on you and your collection.
FinnishDude
FinnishDude - 8/21/2023, 12:09 PM
@HammerLegFoot - Yes, because that way, as long as you take care of them, you will always have them, even if some rando businessman decides to take them off the streaming site.
DarthAlgar
DarthAlgar - 8/21/2023, 3:02 PM
@HammerLegFoot - Definitely.

There will eventually come a point where Disney will become an even bigger dictator with their properties.

They may begin editing their older films in certain ways down the line, to make them more "PC", since American seems to be more focused on that nowadays, than the saftey of their citizens and finances.

Some movies they may remove from their library permanently. It's always good to have physical copies. Especially with older Disney animated movies.

marvel72 - 8/21/2023, 9:16 PM
@HammerLegFoot - 100% you own it and Disney decide to remove it from their streaming service you still have it.
DarthAlgar
DarthAlgar - 8/21/2023, 9:35 PM
@HammerLegFoot - Absolutely.

Disney will eventually be an even bigger dictator then they are now with their films, to the point they will most likely start editing their older films, for the sake of being "PC", since Americans are more fixated on that right now than they safety of their citizens and finances.

This will go double for older Disney animation.

Eventually a lot of the older films will be removed from their library permanently or they'll 1984 a lot of them and edit and censor them significantly.

@RitoRevolto - The art on all the steelbooks they have coming out look awesome. I would love for this artist to redo every MCU film as a steelbook. I would definitely buy the ones I never got on 4K.

Loki was excellent. I will definitely be picking that one up. I'm on the fence with Wandavision as I don't find myself rewatching it. These releases will sell out for sure. But there is no way they will be releasing She-Hulk, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and the others given how divisive they all were. I can see them doing What If and X-Men 97.

Wandavision was fantastic. Then the Falcon and The Winter Soldier came along....blech. Then Loki came along, and all was well! Briefly.

I may pick this up at some point.

I was cautiously optimistic once Disney had fully monetarized the Marvel Disney+ shows the studio would release them on physical media. At this point, neither series probably brings new customers to Disney+ since both shows came out over 2 years ago. This is for the fans who watched the show and for those individuals who never planned on signing up for the streaming service.

If these shows sell well, my guess Disney will make available other series like Falcon and the Winter Soldier before Captain America 4 hits theaters.
