Earlier today, Deadline added another name to the list of actresses in the running to play Jessica Jones, and have now done the same for Luke Cage. Apparently, Marvel and Netflix are also looking at Cleo Anthony for the role of the hero known as Power Man, and compared to the other two names mentioned as being considered yesterday, he's a much lesser known actor! His credits include "Dauntless Patrol #1" in Divergent and appearances in the likes of NCIS, Transparent, and Trophy Wife. He definitely looks the part, but does he have the acting chops to star in six or seven episodes of Jessica Jones AND carry his own 13-part series? What do you guys think?

Still think it should either be Terry Crews or Michael Jai White. They have the build, marketability and charisma.

@BlackHulk Terry Crews is already doing two shows and he is too old but I think Michael Jai White would be great as cage too bad he's bronze tiger

it will be awesome when we start getting crossover moments between Agents of Shield, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage.

Id love to see Daredevil having a guest role in one episode of Shield, would be pretty awesome

I'm not digging him. He may be a good actor, who knows, but he looks like a straight up pretty boy. That's not Luke Cage.

Michael Jai White is a DC tv guy anyway. Otherwise he'd be a shoe-in.

Word up, he's got the chops, size, and credibility. Marvel likes to waste the great actors of color on bit parts, tho. (See Thor, Cap 2, and AOS)

I am soooooo tired of these "pretty" people playing these types of roles. This is why many of these comic book films and tv shows are not taken seriously. When better actors are passed on due to having not been a runway model, we (the audience) miss out on a character's portrayal that would be a thousand times more satisfying. And not only more satisfying, but also more relate-able. Under-dogs with chiseled chins, mesmerizing eyes and rock hard abs DO NOT MAKE SENSE. This is a "general outlook" on the way casting is done. I know Luke Cage is supposed to be big and strong, but he doesn't have to be pretty. Nor does Thor, I think it is a disservice to the character of Thor to make him look like a runway model.

@homodrome well seen as how they're taking alot of inspiration for theses characters from the grittier solo runs im guessing for luke cage it will be cage (marvel Max) and for iron fist immortal fist by fraction and brubaker. The Jessica Jones description sounds word for word Alias (marvel max)

I hope they go with a unconventional choice like they did for Daredevil. But whoever is Luke Cage has to be able to sell the fact that thy are from the streets and are doing their best to reform while also maintaining a certain amount of rage. Hope we'll see Willis Stryker, Shades and Comanche too.
