The  Creative Arts Emmys ceremony were held this past Saturday and Sunday in the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.  The Creative Arts Emmys celebrate technical achievements and serve as a precursor for the Primetime Emmys which will be held on September 17.

Nominated for
Outstanding Stunt Coordination For A Drama Series, Limited Series Or Movie, Marvel's Luke Cage prevailed over The Blacklist, Blindspot, Gotham and CBS' MacGyver reboot.  Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was nominated for Outstanding Short Form Comedy Or Drama Series but lost to Better Call Saul's Los Pollos Hermanos Employee Training video.  Luke Cage's win marks the second Primetime Emmy win for Marvel Television after Jessica Jones won the Outstanding Main Title Theme Music category in 2016.

Marvel's Rocket and Groot was also nominated for
Outstanding Short Form Animated Program but lost to the Adventure Time short, Islands Part 4: Imaginary Resources.

@Mamamartha - You're right. Aside from DD, these shows haven't been great in the stunt choreography. Heck, Arrow is better.

There were some great stunts in Cage. I think they felt less important because so often they were basically "effortless" for the character, but from a technical standpoint, they were frequently very good.

That said, I still can't get over that one flubbed impact against the van in the Diamondback fight. I get that it was probably impossible to do a physical reset, since the van was damaged, but there had to be some way to fix that one in post.

@MUTO123 - he's oddly burned by the fact that he cant do Cage. He really wanted to make it a Shaft affair.

@MUTO123 - I'm glad he's nowhere near Luke Cage and any other PoC superheroes.

@MUTO123 - I actually would love to see a 70's Luke Cage version done by Tarantino...as a kid (and even now) I loved the Luke Cage books and would have given anything for Carl Weathers back in the day to play Luke. I don't think there could ever be a better casting! I like Colter in the role, but he's sure not the Cage I remember.

If anything, Luke Cage deserves an award for it's music, not it's stuntwork.

Honestly I can't remember many great stunts. There wasn't any stunts like the stunts on Daredevil.

Still congrats

That's an odd win. There's barely any notable stunts in Luke Cage. The series should've won an Emmy for music composition instead.

This is surprising. i thought the stunts in DD were better.
