Moments after being shown off at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel and Netflix released the first teaser trailer for Luke Cage. Set to premiere on the online streaming service on September 30th, it's heavier on action than plot details, but that's perfectly fine for a character like Power Man!

The official synopsis for the series reveals that after a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city–forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury. Colter is joined in Luke Cage by Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Frank Whaley as Rafael Scarfe, Mahershala Ali as Cottonmouth, Theo Rossi as Shades, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, a character Luke met back in Jessica Jones. However, the teaser trailer for the show is not all we have for you!

Also below is the first poster for Iron Fist. Those lucky enough to be at the Luke Cage panel were treated to some footage, but this logo should keep us going until more about the series is revealed.

@Spidey91 - Stick's voice at the end... This, [frick]ing this: My theory [frick]ing confirmed!!!

It was only natural for it to happen this way. It's not like they were going to make us wait till next season of DD, to finally see what The Hand's big play is. I mean, just look back at the finale, they were fully ready to literally unleash the "Beast" and wreak. I mean, the I'm hoping to see more of the Chaste next season, also wouldn't mind being taken out of NY and back to "The Wall" that Stick mentioned, (assuming that's where Elektra was trained, in the flashbacks).

It's obvious that Matt's going to complete his training with Stick, in order unlock the full potential of his abilities. I'm hoping to see a more refined version of his "world on fire" vision. It'll be a symbolic way of showing that he's fully mastered his abilities by showing his radar sense in full - amidst the chaos comes clarity.

After seeing how much of a threat the Hand were in season 2, it's only logical for them being the ones the Defenders would need to face. It would need to be a major event for these individuals to come together after all, so why not it be the Hand who are finally carrying out their evil master plan?

We've only seen and heard a few titbits of what they're capable of, but we're still in the dark about a few other things. I don't think it would be smart to keep those things reserved for season 3. I mean, we know that the Hand were fully ready to execute their plans, and literally unleash the "Beast" and wreak havoc in the finale. The "War" that Stick always mentions to, has just begun, and It's only natural for that to play out in the Defenders, instead of the next season of DD.

Now, I have a theory on how everything will play out in the Defenders. There was a "What if?" story released back in 2009 called "What if? Daredevil Vs. Elektra". It basically plays a twist on Frank Miller's run by having Matt be the one to die and then be resurrected by the Hand. Obviously this plays out differently in the series, but I'm pretty sure they're taking inspiration from that premise and the 2010 "Shadowland" storyline also.

Check these out from the "What if" story (Sorry I could only find the Russian version online):

In the "What if" story, a few other heroes show up, including Luke Cage and Iron Fist. These heroes are basically recruited by Elektra, after she's trained and put in charge of creating a reborn Chaste, by Stick. So taking inspiration from that, it's pretty clear how Matt will bring everyone together in the series.

Page from the "What if" story (In English):

I'm hoping to see more of the Chaste in the Defenders and my theory is that they'll have an integral part early on in the series in order to pave way for the Defenders. I also wouldn't mind being taken out of NY and back to "The Wall" that Stick mentioned, (assuming that's where Elektra was also trained, during the flashbacks).

Also, it's obvious that Matt's going to complete his training with Stick, in order unlock the full potential of his abilities. In doing so, I'm hoping to see a more refined version of his "world on fire" vision. It'll be a symbolic way of showing that he's fully mastered his abilities by showing his radar sense in full - amidst the chaos comes clarity.

I think The Defenders will start off by probably giving us a glimpse of the intensive training Matt's been going through since the events of Season 2. He won't be alone since he'll have the Chaste to back him up at the start, and in an attempt to stop The Hand once and for all, they'll be defeated.

In addition, I think it will have more of an impact if it's Elektra who leads the charge in a surprise attack against the Chaste, instead of the Chaste attempting to stop them. A few of the Chaste will probably even die, including Stick. So in the first episode we'll see the Hand's grand plan. NY will obviously be in danger, and that's where the Defenders will come in.
