MS. MARVEL Producer Speaks on Possibility For a Potential Second Season

The Marvels will feature the theatrical debut of Ms. Marvel, but can fans expect to see her next appear in a potential second season of her Disney+ series?

From being your ordinary, hardworking high-schooler from Jersey City, to assisting Captain Marvel fending off a Kree attack on another world, Kamala Khan is definitely climbing up the latters of success as a recognized Young Avenger in the MCU.

After a successful debut in her own stand-alone Disney+ series, Ms. Marvel, which is also the highest ranked Marvel Disney+ series among Marvel Studio's other productions, there is no doubt we will be seeing a lot more of Kamala Khan in future MCU installments.

Fans can expect to see the next of Ms. Marvel in the upcoming The Marvels film, which releases in Fall of this year, and if the trailers have been any indication of what is to come, it is that Kamala Khan is more than enough of a reason to go see the film in theaters.

Ms. Marvel Producer, Sana Amanat, spoke on the potential of fans seeing Ms. Marvel post The Marvels, that being in the highly-demanded Season 2 of her series. Amanat spoke at the Woman of Marvel Panel at Comic-Con this year, where she mentioned the likelihood of Marvel Studio's greenlighting a second season:

”It’s great to see more demand. You know, complain. I’m happy to have you guys complain to [Marvel Studios President] Kevin [Feige], let’s get a Season 2.”

Ms. Marvel star, Iman Vellani, has spoke out on how “[Marvel doesn’t] tell her anything," but, audiences will be sure to have a “very fun time,” with the character moving forward post The Marvelsas her character is a “fully formed superhero” by the end of the film.

Because of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA & WGA Strike, the possibility of there ever having been plans for a Ms. Marvel Season 2 could have been shelved, as, like many other studio's are currently doing, waiting until the strike concludes to continue their scheduling for future projects.

Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. However, unintended consequences see her shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with two other superheroes to form The Marvels.

The Marvels releases in theaters on November 10th, 2023.

I personally think Ms. Marvel show is overrated. It was so overstuffed and unfocus. Part of the reason why The Marvels has no hype is that none of the leads are interesting. Captain Marvel only made 1 billion because it was leading into Endgame and it was MCU's 1st female lead film but Captain Marvel is such a bland character, many forgot photon was in WandaVision, and nobody watched Ms. Marvel as it is 1 of D+'s least watched original show.

I doubt Season 2 is even going to happen and if The Marvel underperforms like AntMan 4, Captain Marvel 3 is probably not going to happen either.

@mastakilla39 - I do agree the Ms marvel show was mixed. She was great but the villains were not great which made the stakes not as exciting as they could have been. The captain marvel critique is honestly exhausting at this point. I just rewatched the first movie and for good or bad the whole storyline was about the kree attempting to dull her powers by having her dull down her emotions and “control” herself. While you may not like the storyline the idea that the character is bland is based off of where they decided to go, not the character itself. It seems likely she’ll have more of a personality going forward since she’s not needed to hold herself in. I honestly think marvel was unsure what to do with such a powerful character and so making her depowered for much of her own movie was meant to even the stakes. Like I said, good or worse it’s what they did but it is consistent with the story they’ve chosen to tell.

@pmackattack - Yeah but its the same formula as all their origin films. Why the phase 1 characters stood out and are well liked is because they had established moral values, motivations, and personalities so even if their film sucks or is average the character at least stands out. When you do an amnesia story and creatively decide to make your lead character "act bland", show very few expressions, and play generic the Captain Marvel doesn't work. The only thing the character and actor can do is act like a marketing gimmick of being the 1st female superhero and "apparently strongest character in the MCU", its unearned. Jason Bourne used the same amnesia trope too and executed a better film and character so its not impossible with that trope.

I doubt it. She's jumped to the big screen, and they'll want to keep it that way.

@Dingus - Yeah, later on after being around for a while, and now they’re both going back to the big screen at any rate.

I'd be all for this. The first one had a lot of great ideas but got a bit messy with its handling of the villains, so if they clean that up there are a ton of fun ideas they could explore in a season 2 that kept the energy the first half of season 1 had

Didn't watch season 1, so no need to watch season 2,if it happens.

They way they're pushing the character down our throats,it might but if Disney are making cuts this is one show that could be axed.
