MS. MARVEL Spoiler Stills Offer A Closer Look At Kamala Khan's First Team-Up And Red Dagger's Debut

A new batch of Ms. Marvel stills have been revealed from the fourth episode, "Seeing Red," and they show more of Kamala Khan's first meeting with Red Dagger, the villainous ClanDestine, and much more...

Kamala Khan visited her grandmother in Karachi during yesterday's episode of Ms. Marvel, leading to even more revelations about the source of her newfound powers.

While we still don't know whether the hero has any ties to the Inhumans (or even whether those aliens will make their MCU debut), it would be a missed opportunity to not do something that sets the stage for them to appear. After all, Anson Mount's appearance as a Black Bolt Variant in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness proved to be a hit with fans!

Regardless, while learning more about the ClanDestine and the Noor Dimension, Kamala found herself embarking on her first team-up after meeting the heroic Red Dagger. He's a badass fighter, but with those villains on the loose (breaking out of prison and getting to Pakistan was surprisingly easy for them), more trouble is on the horizon.

The episode ended with Kamala somehow transported back in time, and it's there we're guessing more will be revealed about her past. Comic book fans will also know that the Partition was a key moment in Ms. Marvel's history, so we're curious to see how it's explored in the MCU.

Ms. Marvel is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?

Joining Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel in the show are Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha. Bisha K. Ali is the show's Head Writer, while episodes were directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

The first four episodes of Ms. Marvel are now streaming on Disney+.

The ep was full of contrivances, exposition and conveniences (not particularly unusual for such programs) - and the story of the ClanDestine seems a bit odd (wont say more) but overall it was OK

Oddly, I found the action scene a bit dull, whether it was the quick cuts, direction or uninspiring music, I'm not sure?

The teenage stuff and cultural aspects are the best parts for me. Of course I'm not Pakistani so not sure how accurate the depictions actually are.

Another great episode. I'm enjoying how they're exploring the effects of Partition on Kamala's family. Reminds me of some of my own family stories.

And that last shot looked really practical but I wonder if it wasn't.

Occasionally choppy editing aside, I can't say enough good stuff about this show. Amazingly comfortable in its own skin, and solely focused on telling a singular story of discovery that makes every supplemental piece and moment matter. It absolutely knows its a comic book show and leans into that in really fun ways I'd forgotten this stuff could. It kinda taps into a similar space that Black Panther did, where culture, family and identity take lead, and all the superhero stuff flows directly out of that and only when necessary. I can't wait to see how they finish this off, and I REALLY hope this gets another season

Really been liking the show and all the references to the Pakistani culture that comes with it. Probably the only thing that really bothers me is that Kamala has yet to confront her own Mother with what is going on with her and the hisroy of her family behind it. She can speak to her Grandmother about it, but not Mom, at least yet. Might help explain what happened at her brother's wedding as well and get her out of house arrest when back home in Jersey. But thats nitpicking and an overall great show so far. Looking forward to how it all plays out.

OT:

Just read that Batgirl screened last night. Not familiar with the user but he said the movie was awesome - answered a couple spoilery questions about it.

His name is red dagger what’s he doing with kunaie?

@dragon316 - Essentially, a dagger is for stabbing and is a weapon, a knife is primarily for cutting and slicing and is used for a wide variety of purposes as a tool.
A Kunai is a Japanese knife, essentially a masonry trowel. In the show the Red Dagger members are using a wide variety of knives and daggers, showing their great skill, as many are not supposed to be used for throwing. The fact that a Japanese knife is used in the show does not mean it is being used in the wrong context, it merely informs us that The Red Daggers use any and all knives / daggers. Consider that Wallid threw two into a wall and used them to climb / drop to the next balcony - maybe that is exactly why kunai were being used (masonry knives)

The most boring episode Marvel has ever done. Just make the Clandestine Skrulls so we can setup secret invasion and The Marvels... this red dagger stuff is awful

@Captainhulk1 - Because you don't like it?

@Captainhulk1 - Agreed. Because that’s literally what it did to me several times in the last episode. Not kidding. I was willing to give it a go, but the only decent episode so far has been no 2. The others have been dead set boring. They make the Netflix shows seem fast paced by comparison. The actress who plays Kamala is very charming, but Jesus, the villains are pissweak and I don’t need 2 hours of Keeping Up With The Khans - seriously, who gives a shit about her brother’s wedding? And if I wanted a history lesson on Partition I’d watch the Discovery channel. Back story and character development are vitally important, but still, it’s supposed to be a superhero show - get on with it already!!!

Unless you're under 16, I do not understand how you can like this show. The show is extremely cheesy. The CGI powers don't work at all and I can't get behind this little girl fighting and beating lethal assassins'.

I understand, respect and appreciate how hard they are trying to pay homage to the Pakistani culture. But this is show is just not it. It's going to be hard to ever take her seriously alongside government trained lethal and tactical killers like Winter Soldier, Moon Knight, etc...

I hate to be a hater but this is just how it is.

i love the show don't get me wrong, but i really need something big to happen. i mean before the inevitable last episode end credits. next episode i need a kree reveal or skrull reveal. a cameo would be cool but i rather see a big reveal of someone or something that hasn't hit the MCU yet cosmic wise. take advantage of that marvel in her name!! so much cool history attached to it. dont make us get that in a 45 second end credit that just leads to captain marvel 2. which is whole freaking year away!

The series is nice except when it comes to superheroes themes...

(The historical part is pleasant)
