Marvel Studios has released another Secret Invasion clip, this time featuring a tense and surprisingly uncomfortable conversation between former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury and his right-hand woman, Maria Hill.

These two were never really allies in the comic books and when Maria did eventually take charge of S.H.I.E.L.D., it was as an antagonist. That's not the route the MCU has gone down, but it's allowed for moments like this one where Nick's protégé questions whether he's ready for their latest mission.

She points out that he's largely been M.I.A. since the events of Avengers: Endgame and seems to have lost his edge somewhere along the way. That would explain why he sent Talos to take his place in Spider-Man: Far From Home, anyway.

As we first told you yesterday, the social media embargo for the series lifts at 9pm PT tonight with reviews following on June 14 at 9am PT. You'll want to make sure you check back here then for our verdict.

You can watch the latest clip for Secret Invasion below.

In Secret Invasion, set in the present-day MCU, Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.

The show stars Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Charlayne Woodard, Killian Scott, Samuel Adewunmi, Dermot Mulroney, Christopher McDonald, Katie Finneran, with Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman, and Don Cheadle.

Secret Invasion arrives on Disney+ on June 21!

“You were never the same after the Blip.”

The same can be said of Marvel and the entire MCU.

Looks darn good. I mean it's just a clip, but it is hitting everywhere I want it to. Cause we know Nick Fury is going to rise to her challenge, and I can't wait to see it.

This looks so bad. Although, it would be funny to see septuagenarian Fury try to look tough doing that old man run/waddle combo like he did in Captain Marvel even though he was de-aged.
