Production is now underway on the Secret Invasion Disney+ series in Leeds, England, and following our recent look at Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Ben Mendelsohn (Talos), Coby Smulders (Maria Hill) and Emilia Clarke (?) on set, we have a first glimpse of Kingsley Ben-Adir.
The One Night In Miami star's role has not been announced, and this snap doesn't give us much more to go on. It's been previously reported that he will be playing the villain of the piece, which has led to speculation that he might be Dorrek VII, Emperor of the Skrull Empire. Of course, if Ben-Adir was playing a shape-shifting alien, it makes sense that he'd take human form while infiltrating Earth.
We also have a video featuring a mysterious actress who has since been confirmed as Irina Kara (Killing Eve). We have no idea who she's playing, of course!
Plot details are still under wraps, but we do know that that the show will follow the basic premise of the comic book by focusing on "an infiltration of Skrulls on Earth" (no big surprises there). The cast will also include Olivia Coleman (The Favorite, The Lost Daughter) in an undisclosed role.
Thomas Bezucha (Let Him Go) and Ali Selim (The Looming Tower) have been tapped to helm the upcoming miniseries, which was written by Kyle Bradstreet (Mr. Robot). No official premiere date has been set.
