Secret Invasion is right around the corner and a newly released TV spot sheds some light on exactly how great a threat these shape-shifting aliens pose to Earth.
It turns out their goal is to wipe out humanity and all signs point to former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury being all that stands in their way. He'll have some help, of course, but whether he can trust those around him remains to be seen.
In some respect, Secret Invasion - which has been billed as an MCU espionage thriller - feels oddly consequence-free. After all, we know Fury survives because he was in The Marvels trailer and that alone seems to suggest these Skrull invaders will be easily dealt with. Here's hoping the show does have some consequences, though.
We can also tell you that the social embargo for Secret Invasion lifts tomorrow at 9pm PT with reviews following on June 14 at 9am PT. You'll want to check back here then for our verdict.
For now, watch this TV spot below.
In Secret Invasion, set in the present-day MCU, Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.
The show stars Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Charlayne Woodard, Killian Scott, Samuel Adewunmi, Dermot Mulroney, Christopher McDonald, Katie Finneran, with Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman, and Don Cheadle.
Secret Invasion arrives on Disney+ on June 21!
