Secret Invasion is a show that's understandably been shrouded in secrecy since it was first announced, and while set photos have dropped a few intriguing hints, Marvel Studios has revealed very little! An insanely talented cast has been assembled, though, including Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, and MCU newcomers Olivia Colman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Emilia Clarke, among others.

However, another addition has been added to the Disney+ series. Talking to Josh Horowitz during a recent Q&A, Jackson confirmed that Martin Freeman is also in Secret Invasion

He first played CIA agent Everett K. Ross in 2016's Captain America Civil War and later appeared as a supporting character in Black Panther. Set photos have confirmed he'll be in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, though with grey hair and a beard (possibly suggesting he wasn't among those wiped out of existence by Thanos for five years in Avengers: Infinity War).

We fully expect Secret Invasion to reveal that a few familiar faces in the MCU are secretly shape-shifting Skrulls, and depending on his behaviour in the Black Panther sequel, we wouldn't be shocked if Ross is among them. For now, we'll just have to wait and see how this story plays out.

Secret Invasion is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2023.

Cool. I liked his dynamic with T'Challa.

He’s definitely in some sort of higher CIA position.

I hope Everett Ross is a Skrull. Perhaps having good relations with Wakanda, he has access to Vibranium as part of the Skrull plan.

I loved it when they kept telling him to shut up in Black Panther.

Love Freeman and love Everett Ross as a character in the MCU, so more of both is always welcomed!

The more I read about this show, the more I want none of the major characters to be Skrulls. Think everybody having the fear that anybody can be a Skrull could be more interesting then them actually being Skrulls. Skrulls wouldn't be doom, just the agencies' fears

@bkmeijer - I’m gonna be controversial and say I never liked the whole Skrull thing in Marvel, not knowing if the person you’re looking at is the actual person or not kinda pisses me off 😂 I’m still annoyed at Spider-Man having never interacted with the real Nick Fury and how every Fury scene in Far From Home was just Talos the Skrull all along. Even in other stories, there was a really nice scene between Lois Lane and Martha Kent in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, but it was ruined when it turned out Martha Kent was just Martian Manhunter in using his shapeshifting the whole time, I love MM but it took away from the scene.

@JohnCastillo - same here, that's why I just want it to be a Red Scare-type thing going on. No one's actually a scroll, but everybody think anybody else is.

And yeah, that MM reveal really ruined a great scene

It will be funny seeing Martin Freeman And Olivia Coleman on screen together again. They go way back to Big Train (with Simon Pegg).
