Captain America: New World Order star Anthony Mackie is no stranger to internet backlash, particularly as he's the first Black actor to play Captain America on screen. Unfortunately, just like Mackie has been targeted by racist fans, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has come under fire from sexist ones (that's not to say everyone who dislikes the series is sexist, of course).

During a recent interview with IMDb, Mackie was asked about developing Sam Wilson ahead of the next Captain America movie and praised the latest MCU TV series on Disney+.

"I'm excited, She-Hulk was great! The last series to come out on Disney+," he says. "It's just different than their norm. You could see Marvel giving writers the opportunity to spread their wings and look at the Marvel Universe in a different way. So, Malcolm Spellman and I have been going back and forth. It's really unique to see how the character and the universe is evolving."

Spellman, who served as Head Writer on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, is writing Captain America: New World Order with Dalan Musson, but Mackie has clearly been playing a pivotal role in where this hero's story goes next. 

Elsewhere in the interview, Mackie also recalled his funniest memory from the set of an MCU project. "I would say the one that cracks me up the most would probably be [when] we were doing the car chase up on the bridge and [Sebastian Stan] sticks his hand through the glass and rips the steering wheel off. If you freeze frame it, the face I made was so ridiculous."

"It was so ridiculous. It was so unassumingly childish. Like the excitement on my face," he continues. "That was probably the one that cracks me up the most."

I think She-Hulk does what it sets out to do well: being an unpretentious series.

I'm enjoying it.

It helps that I interviewed Tatiana Maslany and she was great to me!

@Origame - some sites like imdb give a breakdown of the demographic of the reviewers. Nearly all of the 1 star reviews are from men of that age. And if you really think there's just as many 10/10 reviews as there are 1/10s then I'd suggest you go back and look at the numbers. Last I checked, there's a massive difference between 17k and 35k and they are certainly not "basically equal" as you claim. More bs from you

I find it unpretentious because I don't believe that Marvel has to make an Engame all the time, because then it will saturate.

That's a total fabrication by the writers of this movie to gloss over the fact that the Dahomey at that tike were fighting against the French to PRESERVE their role in slavery, not fight against "colonizers".

Fake character doing fake shit to whitewash the barbarism and atrocities committed by the Dahomey. Let's not forget that in addition to the Dahomey selling an untold number of Africans into slavery to Europeans and Arabs....they also had a massive slave population of their own that they brutalized and used for slave labor.

@BigPhilbowski - also, backing up the points being made about the woman king, the dahoney tribe was involved in the slave trade when the movie's events were supposed to take place. The people making the film even had to clarify that it's an alternative history to justify themselves.
