The San Diego Comic-Con trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law brought confirmation of a few persistent rumors (including the involvement of a certain Man Without Fear), and we also learned that the Disney+ show will indeed be the first Marvel Studios project to break the fourth wall.
At one point, we see Tatiana Maslany's Emerald Amazon turn to look right at the camera, addressing the audience Deadpool-style. We're not sure how often this narrative device will be utilized in the series, but the Orphan Black star and her co-directors have assured fans that it won't only be used for comedic purposes.
While speaking to IGN, co-director Kat Coiro said there are "some big surprises coming regarding the fourth wall," though she did't elaborate any further. "I think breaking the fourth wall asks a lot of questions that I hope we get to answer for you in the show" added co-director Anu Valia. "So I just don't want to give too much away. But it's very fun, it's very cool."
"And also, it's a great way to bring the audience in," offered Maslany. "They already jump into the universe of the MCU but to be like 'hey, I know, I see you coming in so let's go together' is kind of a fun thing."
