SHE-HULK Director Kat Coiro Refers To Daredevil's Cameo As The Show's "Biggest Surprise"

We know Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) will appear in an upcoming episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, but director Kat Coiro has now revealed that Daredevil's cameo is the show's "biggest surprise."

Following persistent rumors that Daredevil was going to factor into She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, we finally got confirmation that Charlie Cox would indeed reprise the role of Matt Murdock when we saw him flipping over the Emerald Amazon in the series' SDCC trailer.

Other characters (such as The Thing) have also been rumored to appear, but it sounds like the Disney+ show's biggest "surprise" cameo may have already been let out of the bag.

“Daredevil remains the biggest surprise that we had, which we let out of the bag at Comic-Con," said director Kat Coiro during an interview with TV Line. "I am telling you, the relief I felt seeing him pop up on that screen in front of all the fans was so huge because for almost a year I’ve been carrying this secret, and I was finally able to breathe."

In the most recent episode of She-Hulk, Jennifer Walters breaks the fourth wall to ensure viewers that it's not going to be a "cameo of the week" type show, but we know Marvel Studios does plan to make use of several other characters from the comics before the season concludes.

"I don’t want to set people up for disappointment,” head writer Jessica Gao added. “But I will say that the remaining cameos are cameos from the comics, characters that haven’t been seen before in the MCU.”

The Wrecking Crew showed up in this week's episode, and we know the likes of Frog-Man and Man-Pig(?) will also appear - but could we also see the MCU debut of some more established heroes/villains?

We still don't know which episode we'll see the Man Without Fear will make his presence felt, but - mild spoiler alert - it won't be in next week's instalment!

@TheJackAss - she's referring to keeping it a secret up until Comic Con.

@thewanderer - There were rumors long before Comic Con. It was also no secret that She Hulk would need the help. But not even Daredevil may be enough in saving this show. Especially if his portrayal turns Daredevil fans off

@thewanderer - Just doing this this & that means nothing anymore. Its how its done thats more important now. Making Daredevil funny & annoying will just turn fans off & Daredevil wont be the rating boosts Disney was hoping for

As big a surprise as finding out Superman doesn't stay dead.

One thing I'm getting annoyed about the show, is how short the episodes feel...

@Gandressmex - I've only seen the first episode and decided to wait till closer to the finale for that reason.

@Gandressmex - I think the 3rd episode was much better in that regard. it was 27-28 minutes if you don't count credits.

@HWestRE420 - I'll probably just do that and wait as well.

@thewanderer - Yea, it was definitely longer than the 2nd episode.

@Gandressmex - especially because the writing is close to awful and there is no real meat to the story being told.

@McMurdo - The writing is a hit or miss for me, but with the first act basically done, were heading to the second act of the story which hopefully we get a clearer image of what's going on, cause I do agree that so far, It seems like there isn't any real meat to this.

It was hardly a surprise even at comic con. Kevin Feige basically confirmed it like 9 months ago when he said "you never know who'll turn up in an MCU courtroom" right as all those rumours about a new deal with Cox were going around.

It's sad she has to even mention Daredevil to keep people interested in the show.

While the show holds an 88% on RT, audiences are split down the middle with 50% rating.

I watched three episodes. I shut the show off in 3 minutes on the 3rd. I'm done and I think people will drop off as well, maybe.

They originally wanted a comedy/procedural courtroom drama but, apparently, the writers didn't know how to do that and instead opted for a feminist comedy.

Problem 1) Feminism
Problem 2) (For myself) I have only chuckled once in an exchange between Bruce and Jennifer. Haven't laughed once/since. This show is not funny much to my surprise. Should have been a red flag but I continued.
Problem 3) (The bigger issue) [In my opinion] a) Marvel is continuing the trend of sacrificing story for virtue-signaling. Making She-Hulk being immediately better than Bruce within no time... I never said this about anyone, including the Rey character from Star Wars, but She-Hulk is a Mary-Sue. b) Being catcalled or "talked down by men" is not equal or more suffering than Banner's life in the MCU (abuse, being hunted and on the run by the government, leaving the first love of his life Betty, losing his 2nd love Natasha, getting shot at, physically beaten up AND getting so depressed that he actually tried to kill himself but Hulk spat the bullet out.) But apparently she has dealt with worse things than Bruce.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still excited for other shows and movies from the MCU, but if all we have to look forward in She-Hulk is unfunny jokes, messages about how all women are perfect and and all men are pigs, and twerking is a superpower that is important and needs to be a part of a show that little girls will be told to "look up to," then I'm done with She-Hulk.

Jesus Fricking Christ, what’s with the spoilers in titles today? Daredevil name dropped in this title; “Meteor Man” in the Rings Of Power article. Both episodes haven’t even been out for more than a day.

Between this and the “sourcing” of articles to the dead SFgazzette ect, I’m done with these sites.

If the Daredevil cameo is the shows biggest surprise then why tease it in the trailer?

To get people to watch this crap.

Really dying to know how Matt is gonna fit in as a character here. I wonder if that rumor about them hooking up is true. Also I’m slowly getting kinda excited, and set up for disappointment, at the idea of a surprise Ben Grimm appearance.

I like the show just fine overall. It’s not pretending to be anything groundbreaking. I would say the major flaw is that they didn’t go all in on making a comedy. They should’ve gotten actual comedy writers on this thing because while there are funny bits and performances (Maslany is great) there just aren’t a whole lot of *jokes*.
