While Edward Norton was the first actor to play Bruce Banner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mark Ruffalo is responsible for crafting The Hulk fans have come to love in this shared world. After playing the Jade Giant for the first time in 2012's The Avengers, the actor has since made countless cameos and taken on a number of leading roles, albeit never in his own solo project.
Bruce's cousin, Jennifer Walters, will take centre stage in the She-Hulk TV series coming to Disney+ later this year, and Ruffalo has now talked about the show being a passing of the torch banner.
"Tatiana Maslany is frickin' legendary as the She-Hulk," Ruffalo promises in the video below. "I'm passing the banner onto her. There are some really good, funny, cool, long, long scenes between Professor and her. We've never really seen the Hulk interact with people the way he does in that show. It'll be really interesting."
Much to the surprise of fans, Professor Hulk had reverted to his human form for that surprise appearance in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but he's Hulked Out again in She-Hulk and seemingly healed his arm after using the Infinity Gauntlet. Whether Ruffalo's time as this character is nearing its end remains to be seen, but we're anticipating Jen quickly joining the ranks of The Avengers!
She-Hulk is expected to arrive on Disney+ later this year.
