We had heard that Werewolves Within director Josh Ruben was working on a mysterious sci-fi horror film known as Green Bank, but details on the project had been few and far between.
Now, the movie has found its leads, and thanks to Variety, we have a much better idea of what to expect from the plot.
Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) and Jasmin Savoy Brown (Scream 5, Yellowjackets) will star in the Protagonist Pictures release, which is described as a "tale of high-tech terror."
Green Bank will "take place in an American town where all Wi-Fi, cell signals, and radio broadcasts are strictly forbidden for mysterious reasons. There, an infant sleep trainer, played by Brown, will discover that the seemingly-clueless yuppies who hired her to help their child are far more terrifying than they seem."
Ruben believes his film "has the full package—it’s smart, scary, and wickedly funny." Protagonist Pictures CEO Dave Bishop promises "wall-to-wall, fright-filled fun led by a fiercely talented cast", and a "fresh, subversive take on the [horror] genre".
Green Bank's script was penned by The Cleansing Hour writer Aaron Horwitz, and will be produced by Big Swell Entertainment.
Maslany arrived on the scene thanks to her performance(s) as multiple clones in Orphan Black, but will be best known 'round these parts for her lead role in Disney+ She-Hulk series. Savoy Brown most recently appeared in the fifth Scream movie as Mindy Meeks, and is set to return for Scream VI later this year.
Green Bank is currently being shopped at the European Film Market, so no release or shoot dates have been announced. We'll be sure to update once we know more.
