The penultimate episode of VisionQuest arrived on Disney+ last night, ending on a major cliffhanger when we finally got to meet the mysterious Client. That's left fans with a lot of questions heading into the finale, many of which have been inadvertently spoiled in advance.
When the usual episodic recaps went live last night, Inverse published an article recapping some of episode 8's biggest moments. While we won't be sharing any advance spoilers here, social media has been flooded with details about "Forever."
That includes details of a major return—the post's headline gave it away—and how the story arcs of several characters conclude.
It's an unfortunate mistake, but likely the result of the site forgetting that episodes 7 and 8 weren't being released together. VisionQuest has had a unique release schedule, with two instalments dropping weekly and only these final two chapters premiering individually.
During a recent interview with Collider, Jocasta actress T'Nia Miller was asked about her hopes for Jocasta in the MCU moving forward.
"Well, [everyone from] Black Panther," she said of the characters she'd the synthezoid to cross paths with. "I've worked with Letitia Wright twice before, so let’s make it three. We did a play that was written by Danai Gurira, who is also in Black Panther, bizarrely and oddly enough. It was fringe theater earning pennies years and years ago."
"And then we did a queer show, Cucumber and Banana, with Russell T. Davies," Miller continued. "That would be just interesting because it’s a small universe. I think Loki. Wanda. More of Ultron, please and thank you. I'm going to broadly say the Avengers. I'll just go on forever and ever and ever."
We'll have a full breakdown of the VisionQuest finale for you next week; trust us when we say you'll want to brace yourselves for a jaw-dropping hour of television.
In VisionQuest, Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponise him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron.
His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision's son, reincarnated. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron's influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.
VisionQuest stars Paul Bettany, James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T'Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, with Emily Hampshire and James D'Arcy.
In our full season review, we concluded, "Paul Bettany and James Spader are masterful in VisionQuest, a staggering achievement by Marvel Studios and Terry Matalas that understands its characters, does right by them, and delivers one of the best MCU stories ever told."
Six episodes of VisionQuest are now streaming on Disney+.
