VisionQuest had a two-episode premiere on Disney+ last night, meaning fans are weighing in with their thoughts on the latest MCU TV series.
In terms of Rotten Tomatoes' Audience Score (now known as the "Popcornmeter"), Marvel Studios/Marvel Television has a bit of a spotty track record. The majority of its shows have been well-received, but some have been outright slammed by unhappy fans.
When it comes to VisionQuest, it's definitely not a typical superhero series. The show has a unique premise and an offbeat tone that's very much in line with WandaVision and Agatha All Along, and those weren't necessarily to everyone's liking despite receiving glowing reviews.
As of now, VisionQuest sits at 88% on the Popcornmeter, meaning it ranks alongside WandaVision, Hawkeye, and Moon Knight as one of the MCU's best-rated streaming series. The show is currently rated 82% by critics and is "Certified Fresh" on the Tomatometer.
How does VisionQuest compare to the rest of 2026's superhero offerings? Well, 88% places it above The Boys Season 5 (49%), Lanterns (68%), Supergirl (72%), The Punisher: One Last Kill (78%), and Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 (85%), and behind only Spider-Man: Brand New Day (97%).

In our review, we concluded, "Paul Bettany and James Spader are masterful in VisionQuest, a staggering achievement by Marvel Studios and Terry Matalas that understands its characters, does right by them, and delivers one of the best MCU stories ever told."
In VisionQuest, Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponise him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron.
His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision's son, reincarnated. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron's influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.
VisionQuest stars Paul Bettany, James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T'Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, with Emily Hampshire and James D'Arcy.
The series premieres on Disney+ on October 14.
