VisionQuest Episode 3 Clip Teases Twisted Family Dynamics As New Poster Hints At Ultron's Plan

The first clip from VisionQuest episode 3 has been released, along with a poster that may drop some big hints about what the villainous Ultron is really up to in the Disney+ series.

The first clip from episode 3 of VisionQuest, "Reboot," has been revealed, and it finds Vision attempting to calm down a very inquisitive and understandably angry Tommy Shepard.

Complicating matters is the fact that a killer drone is honing in on their location; there's also the small matter of the AIs inside Vision's head making their opinions known. E.D.I.T.H., Dum-E, and U show up, as does the ever-snarky Ultron (with a killer line about why Dum-E is his "favourite").

Marvel Studios has also released a new poster for VisionQuest, hinting at Ultron's influence over his son. There may be no strings on him, but it certainly looks as if he'd like to attach some to the synthezoid that resides in the body once meant to be his.

The second episode of the Disney+ series showed a particularly brutal side to the White Vision, something Paul Bettany addressed during a recent interview with GamesRadar+.

"When we find Vision, he has had his memories restored, but he seems unable or perhaps unwilling to attach any feelings to them, and I think that's a really human thing to do," the actor explained. "It was fun to think of him getting frustrated because I don't think we've ever seen that."

"I think we've seen Vision be quite measured and contained, and to see him get angry in yes, ruthless ways, but also later on in sort of funny, frustrated ways with potentially his son in a situation that we will all recognize, like a father teaching their son to drive or whatever, just being really frustrated with them. It was really fun to play or have all of these new experiences for Vision and different facets of him."

In our review, we concluded, "Paul Bettany and James Spader are masterful in VisionQuest, a staggering achievement by Marvel Studios and Terry Matalas that understands its characters, does right by them, and delivers one of the best MCU stories ever told."

In VisionQuest, Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponise him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron.

His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision's son, reincarnated. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron's influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.

VisionQuest stars Paul Bettany, James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T'Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, with Emily Hampshire and James D'Arcy.

The series premieres on Disney+ on October 14.

I am pleasantly surprised. I really liked the first 2 episodes.

Vision and Scarlet Witch could play excellent roles in DD/SW.

Great start for this show.

It has been very good so far. If Matalas gets to write all of the episodes I have faith. The less interfering from baldy the better.

This show is boring AF, as evidenced by the 5 comments here’ including mine. One big problem is that who gives a shit about Vision’s kids? Are they constructs? Are they half robots? Does anybody [frick]ing know or care? Vision had so little screen time in a Marvel movies but there’s almost nothing to build on. And without Elizabeth Olson’s fantastic form, not much reason to watch except the James Spader scenes because he always delivers, whether the material is good or not. The show is typical Feige BS.

@smudgewhat2 - to be fair, the actor portraying vision’s son is very good, from his capture scene forward. I like good actors.

Digging it so far. It's actually answering some lingering questions I had from Wandavision, and I'm really liking the supporting cast -- specifically, Emily Hampshire (who I loved on Schitt's Creek) and one of my favorite character actors, Todd Stashwyck. Glad these two landed themselves MCU gigs.

Looking forward to the rest of the season.
